The New Mutants are my favorite team ever! It was SO GOOD seeing Dani in battle. I missed this! I hope Hickman brings her illusions back. I loved when she could make them solid, but had to keep the spear at all times b/c something had to be solid at all times.

I want to know what her proper powers are atm. I'd rather her have her empathic powers than illusions btw. So empathic energy weapons and such. They'd be quite unique and not make her a simil-telepath.

Now that you mention this, a bow an arrow is kind of an inneficient way for her to use her powers especially since they are facing a horde of Brood and she can only hit one at a time. Her illusions can hit multiple at once and would have made more sense for this

One presumes that the Brood have enhanced senses. One at a time allows her to make sure a target stays down

Found this design for Dani on a lark. Kinda digging it... individualized but still in the NM colors, perhaps a bit too nondescript to be a solo breakout look but the poncho gives her a strong silhouette.

Can you explain a little bit more your concept of empathic energy weapons? Sounds interesting
