carol's mom herself had powers which may have come from genetic experimentation
carol's a halfbreed, and exposure to negabands might awaken those powers, like it happened with genis vell
however, this doesn't mean the kree itself have those powers

I'm picking shape-shifting Skrull all day, every day, if the other choice is to be a Kree. If I recall correctly, Skrulls not only mimic the physical appearance of other species, but their physiological traits and attributes as well. It goes without saying, one of my first guises would be as an Asgardian. After a century or two of that, my second guise would be as one of the Faltine, whose bodies are natural vessels for magic and they are also extremely long lived. Some say it's not easy being green, but I'd definitely prove them wrong.
