Question Fargo Season 4 - Were they influenced by New Gods?

So on the Fargo season 4 preview I think a story element is the two rival mobs, italians and african americans, exchanged children to keep peace.
I don't remember what it was, but I heard another movie/tv show did a similar thing recently. Does this seem like stealing/borrowing to anyone else or am I just being too sensitive?
Captain Marvel borrowing from Green Lantern bothered me, so did The Revenant borrowing from Training Day, so did Avengers from Iron Giant.

It's Fargo so you won't hear complaints from me. Exchanging children sounds medieval and goes beyond new gods. True Detective season one is a mix of what makes a great cop movie story tropes, nothing original but its executed in such a flawless way that I stop analyzing and get really into it

Yeah thats a good point. My first introduction to that concept was from NG, so I guess thats why I always make the comparison. I guess part if it is also that it's not an idea used a lot in films/tv, and by the time they make New Gods it might be considered old and not as interesting as it was when I first read it.

If you don’t like stories taking inspiration from other stories then you’re in for a rough life.

It's was a thing before the new gods. Though maybe not to this extent.

Can you explain the last 3 sentences? I've never heard anyone claim those movies stole from those other movies. So just curious what it is. I mean if you said Bumble Bee from Iron Gaint I get it. Avengers, i must be missing something.

It's just me being nitpicky, I'm being too harsh by saying they stole from these other movies. But what I'm referring to is at the end of both films a nuke being gets sent off by a government authority and the hero flies off to intercept the nuke and make a sacrifice. It happened at the end of the Iron Giant, Avengers with Iron Man, and even kind of the Dark Knight Rises.

The Revenant and Training Day also had moments where a character stops a girl/woman from being attacked and later in the climax of the film is helped/rescued by the girl from earlier.

Again, it's just me being overly sensitive.

This occurs in Game of Thrones, as well.

When I think about that the entire series is based on existing IP, I just can't get that bugged about that it might be a bit of a "New Gods..." lift. That goes double when I think about that the show flat out stole from Close Encounters Of The Third Kind.
