In the original Ditko stories Peter often came across as angry and even sometimes creepy. The Peter we know eventually grew out of this. Peter D. Parker instead doubled down. This one grew up to be far in the vein of Ditko's other heroes such as Mr. A or the Question. He's got a very much no nonsense personality driven by a black or white morality.

He also still wears vests and glasses out of costume.
This one's clever. There's been very little analysis of Spider-Man's objectivist roots.

If hell froze over and Marvel was like, "Yeah, Pav! Write us that Spidercide story you've got," I'd have 'ole Freakface embrace the original, Objectivist Ditko take on Peter, while the real Peter would represent the Romita-take on the character.

I think that'd be a fun role for Spidercide: the clone obsessed with presenting himself as the most "authentic" version of Peter Parker (while clearly being completely full of ****).

You were Spider-Man then. You and Peter had agreed on it. But he came back right when you started feeling comfortable.
You know what it means when he comes back

That would make sense, and given the brutal moral absolutism Ditko's Objectivist protagonists became known for --- which was even famously pilloried through Rorschach in Alan Moore's Watchmen --- I could see Spidercide as a far more vicious and brutal vigilante in that vein.

Like I said, a world where Richard and Mary Parker became AGents of SHIELD and accidentally gained Spider-Powers. Peter inherited their powers combined and had a different life. My idea?, getting strong at early age probably turned him into something similar to Flash Thompson, but being even more Flash than Flash.

The Spyder/Spyder-Man: On a mission to protect Dr. Peter Parker from HYDRA, SHIELD agent Nick Fury is bitten by one of Dr Parker's experiments, a radioactive spider, and is given spider like powers (a mix of Peter and Miles). He uses those powers to go against the "Sinister Six", the six heads of HYDRA.

Anime Spider-Man: After being bitten by a mutated spider, Petero Parkeroshi is given spider like powers but realizes hes in a competition against others who have been bitten by mutated animals including an octopus bitten old scientist, a rhino bitten mob enforcer, a panther bitten African royal prince, A bat bitten doctor, etc...

Spider-Ring: An Amalgam of Spider-Man and Green Lantern (DC) where a teen wears a special spider ring to protect the Cosmic Web.

Anime Spider-Man could be fun, since there are several Japanese-created versions of Spider-Man in the Marvel Multiverse already.

Scientist Hank Pym is obsessed with spiders, and designs a helmet that allows him to communicate with spiders, special 'web-shooters' and a serum that allows him to shrink to the size of a spider. Later, he reverses the formula and is able to grow into a giant, as well. He then uses his ideas on his girlfriend, Janet van Dyne, and gives her 'bug' powers, with wings and paralyzing-toxin-dart-launchers on her wrists, as well as the same shrinking tech, which is enhanced so that she can 'zap' others and reduce *them* to the size of insects!

Together they fight crime as the Spider and the Fly!

Hank Pym as Spider-Man could've been interesting. Hell, I'm still not over that one issue of Marvel Knights Spider-Man (after Mark Millar's #1-12) where Spidey went to Pym for help and Pym marveled at his spider-tracers before opining that he didn't know whether to be impressed that Peter had cracked the code on electronics that could interface with arthropod senses at the age of 15 while it had taken Pym half his adult life to figure out the same --- or saddened and disappointed that Peter had spent the rest of his adolescent years and his adulthood thus far punching criminals instead of making a name for himself as a scientist.

We already had something like this before. During Secret Wars, in "Spider Island", we had a Giant-Man turned into a Man-Spider. And after the end of the first collection of "Web Warriors", one of the new recruits looked like a combination between Ant-Man and Spider-Man.

Come to think of it, I've seen some Ant-Man designs that with a little tweaking would make excellent Spider-Suits as well.

    Various other Spider-Men, based on other heroes;

Jade Spider - Science journalist Peter Parker was taking photos of a (supposedly) 'closed down' gamma research facility in the New Mexico desert when he was bitten by a spider that had been weaponized to deliver fatal amounts of gamma-irradiated venom to it's target. Abandoned by the sinister guards, left to die in the desert, he instead mutated into a hulking green giant with spider-powers!

Golden Fang - Danny Rand survived a plane crash in the mountains of Tibet that killed the rest of his family, to be taken in by monks from an extra-dimensional city of K'un-Lun. Raised there by the monks, he faced the challenge of the vast spider Shao-Lat the Undying, lurking in the Web Between Worlds, in which K'un-Lun was suspended / trapped, and learned the secret of the Spider's Bite, to 'poison the chi' of someone he touched with a series of precise pressure point strikes, rendering them progressively weakened, disoriented, paralyzed, blinded, or possibly even *dead!*

Iron Spider - Industrialist Tony Stark was crippled and trapped in a cave with a series of purely mechanical gadgetry to attempt to fashion his escape. Lacking anything with which to create energy weapons such as repulsors, or flame throwers, or even guns, he instead drew inspiration from a spider lurking near the back of the cave, and created a suit of armor that had four blade like limbs from it's back, the Iron Spider, and could take out multiple foes at close range with ease, while protecting him from their guns, while also allowing him full use of his damaged legs.

Anansi (inspired by someone else's suggestion, upthread) - The trickster god had pulled his most magnificent prank yet, and now *all* of his fellow Orisha were *pissed.* He found himself exiled to Earth, forbidden to return, and, in theory, 'to learn humility' from his time away (although, to be honest, most of his fellow Orisha had no illusions that he would 'learn anything' from his time on Earth, and were just relieved to be rid of his irritating presence for a mortal generation...). Bound to the mortal Miles Morales, far, far away from the African continent, and the primary areas of concern of his fellow Orisha, Anansi finds himself influenced by the mortal ethics of his human host, much to his own surprise...

American Spider - wartime scientist Abraham Erskine had been researching anti-venoms to a particularly deadly strain of spider, when he came across a unique combination of factors that targeted the spider's venom to kill only the 'weak' cells within a person, while his secondary treatment caused the remaining tissues to rapidly replace those lost, leaving behind a stronger, faster, tougher soldier. He only managed to create one perfect warrior with his 'Spider-Soldier Formula,' but he went on to great things!

The same as 616 until....the Spider Bite doesnt give him powers. Instead he transforms into effectively man-spider, albeit in control of himself. Horrified at his appearance he runs across the rooftops and gains a vague measure of his powers as well as his name from a terrified passerby "Its...its...some kind of SPIDER-MAN". Thankfully Peter manages to discover how to mentally trigger his transformation back.

Unable to monetise this hideous transformation (and having difficulty in coming up with a cure on his meager funds and equipment) Peter is with Ben when the Burglar arrives having followed his uncle after he (Ben) and May had an argument earlier on about the nature of the current Superheros, power and responsibility. Peter manages to take the bullet instead of Ben, Ben tries to help his dying nephew whilst the Burglar readies himself to kill Ben.

As this happens in a dreamlike state Peters mind wanders over the echoing words "Power and responsibility". His eyes flash open and he grabs the Burglars gun, the metal crumpling in his hand as he transforms wounds healing all the while. Spider-Man holds the Burglar aloft and breaks his hands, Ben is terrified but tells Peter thats enough. He drops him and the man flees into the night, mind broken.

Transforming back the emotionally shattered teen breaks down and explains everything to Ben. Ben comforts Peter and promises they'll try to find a cure.

This Spiderman has some similarities and differences to 616 in the continuing storyline. Unlike 616 he doesn't actively go out on Patrol at first, many of his villains come to him or are circumstantial. Peters costume is another science experiment like his webshooters, its a cheaper variant of Unstable Molecules that is built into a watch Ben gives him. There is no mask. Spiderman is feared initially by the public but his frequent accounts of saving people overtake the "He looks terrifying" factor. Weirdly J. Jonah. Jameson is a big fan with many glowing stories "No matter how hideous, how much scorn is thrown his way Spiderman selflessly saves us"

Ben and Peter get Peter a job at the Daily Bugle with Ben pulling a few strings from his military days to get him put on as an aid to the science desk (more as a "heres the youths pov" but its still a solid job)

He saves Betty Brants brother and they are a long term couple. Gwen ends up going out with Flash and Mj/Harry are a thing.
