The Spider without fear

Matt Murdock lost his eye sight saving a young kid named Peter Parker from being run over by a truck. This truck was carrying an experimental drug that was made from the blood of a radioactive spider. The truck spilled its contents on Murdock, blinding him, but enhancing his other senses and giving him the strength and agility of a spider. It also gave Matt the ability to “see” using what’s called a spider sense!
Matt uses his new found powers to keep New York safe as the Devil Spider.

"Ultimate Spider-Man": After killing his world's Peter Parker, the Jackal made several experiments with Spidey's DNA. One of them included to leave Jessica Drew (AKA Spider-Woman) pregnant using Peter's DNA. The result was Gerry Parker, a kid that quickly developed all the powers of both his Spider-Parents, and a few surprises more. Now, carrying the legacy of the Spider, Gerry continues the fight as the Ultimate Spider-Man, because ultimate power comes with ultimate responsability.

In the original Ditko stories Peter often came across as angry and even sometimes creepy. The Peter we know eventually grew out of this. Peter D. Parker instead doubled down. This one grew up to be far in the vein of Ditko's other heroes such as Mr. A or the Question. He's got a very much no nonsense personality driven by a black or white morality.

He also still wears vests and glasses out of costume.

Devon Lewis, the son of Shirley Washington, owner of the Daily Grind, was one of many New Yorkers that was turned into a mutant-Spider during Spider-Island. However after being cured with the Anti-Venom antidote, he is instead bonded with the Spider DNA. With Peter being killed during the events of Spider-Island, and Ben Reilly who escaped the lab of the Jackel after being killed/revived over 27 times, Ben decided to reunite with his old co-workers at the Grind and train Devon as the newest member of the Spider-family.

Devons costume is a throwback to Spider-boy 2099, with the jacket.

Flash Thompson: Spider-Man. Flash gets bitten by the spider. When he gets home his drunk dad starts beating on him and Flash takes one swing and nearly kills his dad. He runs off and is tracked down by SHIELD and Nick Fury sees his potential. Flash gets some serious head shrinking done and gets his abusive alcoholic issues worked out and is put thru college by SHIELD and becomes a super-agent of SHIELD.

I like those ideas. The second sounds like a happier conclusion to the What Ifs? where Flash became Spider-Man, and the first is something I'd have loved to see happen in the recent Scarlet Spider series, at least in the sense of Ben trying to reconnect with the people in his life from his time as the sole web-slinger of New York.

That was one of the things I hope that future stories do; send back to reunite with Jessica, Shirley and team at the Grind. They all actually attended Ben’s funeral/remembrance, so how he’d explain his resurrection would be fun.

I still think Devon would be a good candidate for Spidy powers, but Miles has that spot. Enough time has passed, maybe they could make Miles and Devon friends, and that could be a way how Devon learns that Ben was a “Spider-Man”.
