Not every instance of killing is the same. But Bruce always thinks they are except for when its someone who loves.

It isn't. Batman is a hypocrite. He picks and chooses. When it comes to jason, It's apparently a sin to shoot penguin. While, he hangs around with people who doesn't have no kill rule like wonderwoman, catwoman, hal jordan.. Etc. He would punish and throw wally in jail for an accident. Yet, his own accidents created most of his villains.
Besides, batman currently can't touch jason,When it comes to pure ability. If he can't take out a lawyer or a clown . No way he can take on a guy who has a kryptonIan and amazonian and other team mates who got his back. They could easily make their way around.

Catwoman killing Black Mask in last straw moment, after his vicious assaults on her and her family, is not the same as Jason hunting or shooting people whenever he wants. And Wally not having unlimited immunity doesn’t help Jason‘s case. Lightning nailed it on its head, for Jason to just hang around either Batman compromises or Jason soften. Sometime it’s an issue, sometimes it’s not. Its inconsistent and poorly thought out. It makes both look bad and inconsistent. All so Jason can hang around imitating others. Be it with a sudo Titans team or sudo Trinity. If what people are taking away is that Batman is a hypocrite, theres a problem. And sure Batman can’t touch Jason.

It does actually. Jason doesn't go after wally for killing roy. While, the so called trinity does. Roy was jason's close friend and the one who saved him from batman . Then superman and batman bring harley quinn to his coming out party in the hall of justice. So much for not looking like hypocrite.
Depends, what you mean by soften. If Jason being a good guy vigilante without no kill rule, is softening him. Then, i don't care. I want it to happen.Last minute or not, catwoman killed. Wonderwoman killed. Superman killed. Aquaman killed. hal jordan. The guy went nuts and massacred everyone(it's canon).Jason doesn't kill indiscriminately. He doesn't have punisher motif anymore. That's better.the other side needs to be said. He kills when he needs to and is provoked. He might be an outlaw. But, Batman has always been a hypocrite.i don't care, how batman is made to look. Because batman fans always want batman to be a perfect man who never breaks. It's nice to see some green in the blue eyes of his.i see Batman's cognitive dissonance giving layers.

The hypocrite batman tried to take out an already down jason.he couldn't. Jason got away. Jason takes care of the so called undesirables which neitger batman or the so called great champion of hope superman never did. Bizarro is alive and has a home cause of jason.
That's something I like the most about RHatO: Having a family-like team that welcomes people that were abandoned by society/life. For me, Jason is a symbol of hope for the lost and forgotten.

Who gives a crap if Jason doesn’t go after Wally. Wally still can’t kill a bunch of people, accident or not, and then just be able to walk. That is nonsense even for their universe. Even if he promises not to do it again. You can’t just kill a bunch of people, and be like well I won’t do it anymore so its ok. That’s nonsense. And again, let’s not pretend all situations are the same. Superman and Wonder Woman don’t go hunting criminals willy nilly. It’s not all the same, it’s not all equal. It was never meant to be with Red Hood. One day Batman is ok with it, the next he isn’t. This isn’t layers. This is inconsistent bad writing that serves no purpose but to facilitate a purposeless book that doesn’t really even do or accomplish anything. There’s no point to the character these days. Or if there is, I’m certainly not seeing it. And it’s not like I’m unfamiliar with RHatOs.

Harley quinn does. So your point is already moot.
What he can or can't in the lawless gotham is upto him. If the justice system doesn't give justice, An authority figure had to take its place. Redhood did.Him taking out criminals is natural. He is an outlaw and he admits lawlessness is bad. But, He isn't there to be in everyone's goodbook. He ends what justice system, can't (guys like penquin) and takes care of the undesirables of the society( like bizarro) , created by it . Which batman refused to do, Because of his problems going insane and lack of understanding because of being a rich guy with people around him that always accepted him like alfred and dick. Him and bizarro, (who has issues) being one of the best partnerships dc has to offer.
Redhood did, what batman accused superman of not doing in dark knight returns and he himself didn't. He took charge. He became the authority. batman became what he accused superman of being. an authority who wants him dead.cause he does what they(batman and justice system ) can't do,in dark knight return.he faces the same alligation. he leveled against others. Its pretty poetic.

Harley Quinn is nonsense. And what is Red Hood the authority of exactly. The inconsistency isn’t just with Batman. Jason became just as compromised to facilitate their nonsense. He doesn’t have a leg to stand on anymore either. They flip flops his views too so they can have him hang around that any conviction he might have had has gone out the window at this point.

    DC editorial
“To the future or to the past. To a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone - to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: from the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink - greetings!" - Winston Smith

It doesn't matter.batman's rogues running around proves free that, justice system failed. Jason is living breathing symbol of batman's failures. It's also why goes after him so much, unlike others even his friends . Jason proves the Gotham city is effectively lawless with certain pockets of order like gordon. Jason doesn't want lawlessness, either. He is just more connected to the ground and people. Bruce can't be that. He is a king(i am being figurative) . A king disguising himself to find the problem of his subjects is great and admirable. But, he can only sympathise and never empathise. Naturally, bruce is only a visitor to their world, an outsider. Jason is born there and lives there. He could never know what killer croc, bane, bizarro.. Etc feels. Bruce's trips as kid disguising himself and his trips as batman, is effectively that.

It strangley puts banes QUOTE into perspective and it fits jason. "Oh, you think darkness is your ally. But you merely adopted the dark; I was born in it, molded by it.". Jason ofcourse," doesn't blink when the abyss looked back ". Which bruce did with his fear of his insanity. Nor did he turn blind like bane who didn't have love. Jason does what he has to and doesn't loose himself. Especially, because he saved the so called undesirables and in turn they save him.

Your acting like Jason currently has a role in Gotham.

If that's how you want to play it neither does batman. Batman makes no difference whatsoever. Other than creatingmore villains. As said, jason has his family of people who need help.

Cause, batman has superspeed and can run around the universe. Batman also has friends in high places. So he doesn't have to fear being an outlaw that much. unless ofcourse, he kills or does something gordon and his other friends view as bad. Gordon turns a blind eye. Jason isn't a millionare either. He doesn't have the resources bruce does, nor is he as strong.
Admit it your problem with jason is that he exposes batman's limitations and faults. Bruce isn't supposed to be a boyscout. So what's the problem in having some?

My problem is he has become pointless. He was interesting when his existence did test Batman and provide a counter argument. But these days he’s just watered down and compromised. Your trying to claim he all this and that to Gotham, but in actuality his series takes him out of a Gotham for the most part till Batman calls him back. He is not that Red Hood anymore, and hasn’t been for a while now.
