Is it just me, or are Marvel/DC writers hinting that they want a crossover?

The original Superman will fall into public domain within the early 2030's, even Batman will. If Disney really wants to do a crossover we only really have to wait another decade because while it will be with that specific version, it can be done.

Keep in mind that if it is only going to apply to things from that period (so later works will be off limits until time catches up) but should they want to have Spider-man hang out with Superman again, give it roughly ten years.

This is assuming the public domain law isn't changed again. Those characters should have hit public domain a long time ago but companies keep lobbying for (and getting) extensions.

Anyway, I don't think the teases and stuff we've gotten means anything; it's just creators having some fun. DC and Marvel have done this sort of thing since forever.

Disney is the biggest offender of this. Copyright Extensions is sometimes referred to the Mickey Mouse Extensions Act.
