I think the only difference between Inhuman and Mutant: the number of books and stories of the former is far less than the latter.

I just feel like even without that, the Inhumans were never going to be on the same level as the X-Men.

    It wasn't though.

Most Inhuman stories are about how they don't reveal themselves to humanity due to conflict or they make such a power move that Humanity just opts to not bother with them.

Hell, the entire reason the last version of Attilan was able to stand was Medusa telling America "If you try anything, we'll bury you."

    It's not a Humans don't care, it's Inhumans don't take humanity's bullshit.

In-universe Attilan wasn't known to most people until recently, but even then they were just a secret city that kept to themselves. They had been around for a long time without causing any major global problems and largely didn't interact with the rest of the world at all. At least until the gas cloud, which brought a ton of problems and made a lot of enemies among humans. Still, there were never that many Inhumans and they never displayed any desire to spread their influence through economic or violent means. So they were easy for most people to just ignore.

Krakoa suddenly appeared and declared the future belonged to them, and they were buying people's respect and legitimacy with drugs. Half their government is made up of known terrorists with massive bodycounts between them. A lot of humans were already wary of mutants, and now they're all working behind this one tiny island and are explicitly trying to increase their power and prestige.
    ^^^This guy gets it.

I’m not as eloquent as many ppl, but to me it boils down to the Inhumans are a stand off-ish, insular society while Krakoa’s a frikking cult hell bent on amassing power.

Ya'll remember the giant secret armory that the Inhumans hid inside the Moon right? They were amassing weapons and powers

Also they used an empath to influence ambassadors and planned a false flag operation on themselves in order to paint mutants the aggressors

And oh yeah they actually toppled the government of a country in South East Asia

Disregarding Fox and marvel is simple Inhumans could not take the place of humans since their creation is due to the use of crystals or inhuman mist. They are usually born in a controlled manner instead of mutants which are erratic and normally awaken their powers in adolescence.

As far as I know Inhumans lived a short time on Earth before they lived in space and during the inhuman mist incident some humans feared Inhumans as well as feared mutants and some intended to leave them free until the mutants were exterminated and others simply saw them with curiosity or they didn't care about them or the deaths of mutants they caused.

Medusa and BB like Krakoa made deals with governments during the inhuman mist incident in exchange for being left alone. Medusa manipulated the media on several occasions, hid the fact that she had an army and weapons hidden in case of need, attacked countries to rescue imprisoned Inhumans and invaded American installations, and hid the fact that inhuman mist was deliberately thrown into the atmosphere by BB and not in an accident.

So don't think that inhumans are so different from mutants in how they try to protect and establish a nation.

Honestly, the Inhumans were just some isolated country who wanted to be left alone like Shogunate Japan, occasionally interacting with the outside world. It's only a modern innovation that lets the Inhumans walk out in the open. And lots of people hated that.

Krakoa is actively trying to become an international power in order to gain some level of respect for the mutant community.

Funny that the society that previously used actual slavery and worshipped a cloud to the point that they didn’t care about its adverse/fatal effects on people isn’t the “cult hell bent on amassing power.”

For those who complain about Xavier and Magneto's speeches:
