Ooh, that's a great choice. I wanted to pick that, or the War of Heaven and Hell, from Swamp Thing, or the Great Darkness Saga, from Legion, but those stories were interwoven into a larger run, with lots of foreshadowing and / or later repercussions that made them feel less like a single story, so much as a particularly exciting chapter in a longer-running narrative.

Yeah, TGDS was on my short list, but Giffin isn't on my list of favorites. Don't dislike him, but was a fan only of that turn on Legion (which was muchos tres epic!)

My favorite DC artist is probably Neal Adams, and I think his best work is his Batman run with Denny O'Neil.

My favorite storylines are probably Steve Englehart and Joe Staton's run on Green Lantern and the Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen. Of course, there were a lot of creators involved with that, but Dan Jurgens rose above the others, in my opinion. Ernie Colon, Dan Mishkin, and Gary Cohn's work on Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld is also a big standout for me.

    Sandman - Neil Gaiman
    Green Arrow - Mike Grell
    Green Arrow - Chuck Dixon
Justice League of America - Brad Meltzer
"My name is Wally West. I'm the fastest man alive!"
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

Morrison's JLA for me. I think its the perfect modernization of silver age team-book storytelling.
Reimagined public domain superheroes in a 1945 that never was!
Read the superhero webcomic THE POWER OF STARDUST!

Same here. Love Grant Morrison's 2006-2013 Batman run.

Another one of those “more than one” lists, and I’m going fro specific arcs where I can think of them.

Paul Dini and Dustin Nguyen (as a team) - “Heart of Hush” and “House of Hush”

Alex Ross as an artist - “Kingdom Come”

Mark Waid - “The Return of Barry Allen”

Peter David - “Young Justice” vol. 1

    Karl Kessel - Superboy #1-25

John Ostrander - Manhunter #1-4 (the Mark Shaw one)

Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale as a team - “The Long Halloween”

Joe Kelly - “Stop me if you’ve heard this one” (the reimagining of the old Golden Age idea of Superman and Bagman finding it each others’ identities on a cruis ship, guest starring Deathstroke and some mouthy Earth 2 version who’s first name is Wade...)
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP

Hawkman by Robert Venditti he's just killing it and also his run on hjatglc was phenomenal and if you are looking for something outside of DC his run on x-mano war was excellent.

Yeah, that's a standout. It's broken up over several years and stories, but the arc of Batman's first encounter with Talia al Ghul through his first full-on confrontation with Ras al Ghul is a DC high point in my opinion. Certainly a Bronze Age standout.

That’s probably mine too, certainly the one I’ve re-read the most times.

It’s rare for me to read any series more than once, but others I enjoyed so much I re-read include the Garth Ennis Hitman, and the James Robinson Starman run.
