X-23: "I know there are people who disapprove... Guys on the Internet mainly."

Maybe they changed his size for the movie?

His size has never been all that consistent in the books. He was just the runt of the litter who was given so much love that he became a big, red dog. Sometimes that's being the size of a Van, and other times being the size of a school. I reckon the film is just trying to give him a more consistent, and manageable size.
Continuity, even in a "shared" comics universe is often insignificant if not largely detrimental to the quality of a comic.

I used to watch the carton on PBS. It was a cute show with some fun dog friends. I will go see this movie just for the fact that I have always love Clifford. John Ritter nailed his voice. But one thing I always wondered as they walked around the island. Where are the big piles of poop Cliccord would leave behind?

Clifford will talk.
David Alan Grier is his new voice.

Agreed on the show and Ritter nailing his voice, I used to watch it too.
Hope the movie captures the spirit of the books and shows and appeals to the target audience.
Looks like the film took a note from the simpsons. "a wizard did it!"
I feel like the dog must be a metaphor for something, but can't seem to put my finger on it.
Also, good to see some honest-to-goodness one percenter protagonists who live in a massive Succession-style Manhattan townhouse for a change.
