This has always been my view of Wolverine, before he was over exposed and over explained.

Absolutely agree. Just I specifically love Kurt/Kitty relationship because they make an awesome team organically built along the way, and because it's a perfect male/female friendship without a romantic nuance at all (I know there's shippers out there, but...).

Ohmy. That positively broke my heart precisely because it was so lack of fake glamour (I mean, it was rightly written).

Woof, that sh*t made me so man when Kitty was essentially blaming them for everything that happened. And calling them kids?? Oh the things we say and do when we're in pain.

She always resented the "X-Babies" for trying to steal the spotlight from her.

A powerful and emotional moment with the 05. Brought to you by Louise and Walt Simonson.

Whether you agree with it or not it's pretty powerful. They probably could have used her during the Mutant Massacre when they went totally merciless a couple of issues later because of the MM.

    Phoenix II vs. Wolverine

You're right, it's the mother of all cliffhangers.

And no, I don't agree at all with Wolvie. This moment was craziness.

This is perhaps my favorite era of Wolverine. But even this had me going WTF. Her being in danger of going dark phoenix explanation didn't really hold with me.
