Honestly I'm so glad Wanda is no longer his daughter. The Magneto parentage was a retcon in the first place and it didn't do Wanda any favors over the years. John Byrne is responsible for most of the mess that defined Wanda in the 2000s which Bendis felt the need to bring back.

    I never read that one.

That moment is too important to happen on a "Marvel Comics Present"

I never understood why Claremont didn't have Excalibur learn that the X-Men were still alive after Inferno. For that matter, I don't think Kurt and Kitty even have a reaction to Jean being alive. And Rachel encounters the alive X-Men in Days of Future Present but I don't think she ever told Kurt and Kitty.

No she didn't and found out that they were alive and met Logan in a classic back - up story even prior to that annual.

Anyway, on to a new powerful moment...

The whole scene where Destiny lays down the knowledge, shreds Moira's naivete and radicalizes her. It's chilling and tragic, given how fatal the lesson is for Moira.

Mystique was always known as holding no barrels and cruel, but Irene here takes the cake as the true stone cold political actor who doesn't flinch even killing her own kind, for the future of mutankind.

The look on Moira's face when pleading, Irene's mask still, reflective and unmoving.
Everytime I get goosebumps when reading it... Dying like this is what a life poorly lived gets you.. Destiny froze hell with that vicious sentence.

Powerful and emotional, courtesy of Hickman and Larraz.

That scene made me audibly gasp the first time I read it. So cold-blooded but so bad ass. I hope we see more of Irene sometime soon

Yupp. Same here. I can't wait for Irene to return and just take over.

The irony is that death by burning will actually stop hurting REALLY quick since one of the first things to go are your nerve endings.

Forgot Pyro called Destiny his mother. Wonder if that's gonna come back.

That and the Cuckoos calling Emma mother also. Is Hickman doing it for the adopted family theme he has going on or just for the heck of it?

Destiny as a matriarch to the Bortherhood of Evil mutants and Emma as a matriarch to her own telepathic unit?

Irene doesn't know it, she hasn't tried the taste of her own medicine. Maybe Moira can return the favor when Destiny comes back?

Also good to know that burning death is not so hard. Obviously it depends on the flames.

Aka "f them kids". That issue/series is by far the best work from Lobdell/Bachelo, and AoA as a whole(which I feel is vastly overrated otherwise).
Let the flames destroy all but that which is pure and true!

I've wondered about that myself. If I were Moira, I would be highly tempted to give Destiny a taste of her own medicine.

This was a rather shocking moment more than anything. I do think its Storms words though are what's powerful.
