Default Future Trunks dropped into DC and/or Marvel.

Ignoring the Super version, we'll go with the one from Dragon Ball Z, maybe the Bojack Unbound film at the latest (making him in his late teens, early 20s at the most).

So, what team(s) would he join? Whom would he befriend?

I chose Future Trunks, as unlike about all the other Saiyans, he doesn't get blinded by pride or arrogance and is actually quite pragmatic in comparison, and actively aids people in helping them and in protecting them.

He and Cable team up to vaporize Apocalypse and, I dunno, maybe Mr. Sinister, once and for all.

...by cleaned up, do you mean 'scrubbed from the map'?

I don't read Batman. Is Gotham pretty much unsalvageable?

I'm somewhat kidding, there are still good people in Gotham. It's a terrible place, but not everyone is an axe murderer, even if it seems that way sometimes.

There have to be victims, after all!

I think he was saying that, while Batman's upper-end is "punch you in the nose," Trunks' low-end is "erase your city and the continent it sits on." I could ALMOST see Trunks in Gotham for a few minutes: someone steals his jacket, someone throws a falafel at him, someone gets murdered right in front of him and right in front of two laughing police officers. In which case he just says "F&é@ this s*%t I'm out" and handwaves the place. Or maybe uses his time machine to go back and stop the founder of Gotham from ever founding the place. Or just buys Arkham a couple of new locks?

I could see Trunks vaporising a few of the major baddies his first few days there. That'd clear the streets of petty crime in a heartbeat, if the new dude in town was basically just Superman in a bolero.

Well, on top of that, Trunks likely wouldn't have a ton of problem killing the really bad ones.

    Gotham is DC's Florida.
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

That's kind of where I'm at. Trunks comes from a dystopian future that was wrecked by a pair of psychopathic cyborgs that either straight up slaughtered people, or played with them before killing them. Trunks isn't going to stand by for that kind of thing.

And no, he wouldn't just wipe out the city. That's counter to his character.

I mean until everyone comes back from the dead a week later.

I think he probably shows up and chops some villain into pieces and then like, whatever hero swings by and is like "that isn't how we do things here" and he probably just goes with it. Guy was never particularly devoted to murder outside the androids, and even then he mostly just wanted to stop them.

    Yeah, I know.

I just enjoyed the image I spelled out above. With a thought-bubble over his head saying "maybe Dad was right."

He's not a Bat Character, hes a Superman "anti Hero".

Mongul rocks up with Warworld, gives his usual speech...then Trunks gives him the Freiza treatment, before destroying Warworld for good measure. Superman is shocked and spends an arc dramatically fighting and discussing philosophy before they part ways. Probably replaces Bizzaro in Red Hoods "Dark Trinity" as the Superman esque character.

Which is extra hilarious, considering how he's otherwise extremely polite and super wholesome.
