I’m just wondering when this title is going to take the next level. I’m enjoying it but I just expect more. I really think the lackluster writing of Gambit is making it difficult for me to fully appreciate this title at the moment.

Enjoying it...but just isn’t wowing me

Cast juggling is a trixie thing and it seems (understandably so) that this first arc felt very "Betsy & the tagalong gang"

Betsy & Apocalypse had the most intrigue and focus.
Rictor, once he was added, had some interesting developments.

The rest of the cast didn't really do much.
HOPEFULLY, these other mutants get arcs beyond "Support Betsy because we were involved when all her **** went down"

its very likely tini had to set up certain things per data pages, etc, because we all know there is something brewing about arrako/magic, even dr strange in savage avengers 0 recognizes something was happening there, i think it will pick its pace now, even if i have been enjoying it a lot there's valid criticism I hope get improved upon.
at least we are gonna see the rest of outworld

Does anyone feel that the characters don’t fit for this particular title? This is by far my favorite group of characters together for these DOX issues but i just feel at times like maybe Excalibur isn’t the place for some of them.

Rogue and Gambit would seem like better fits in a title like X factor. Particularly Gambit....That dark and gritty feel of the title would seem to be a bit more tailor made for him then the world of Excalibur.

Yep, Jubilee is just there, Rictor rogue and gambit also not being well used on the plots.
Not even Betsy is very good on this, lacks development an inner conflict

Yes. She could bring some nice "tech meets magic" plots.
I'd also exchange Jubilee with Pixie and add Theresa Cassidy.
