it really depends on the execution. I don't think is impossible, prior to WandaVision, it might have been but I think they could be capable of doing it now. However, I don't think it works at this point in time to do it. Even with the Endgame time jump it seems premature to do it. Unless it is like its been suggested, that Rogue doesn't fully depower her, but rather just takes some of it away. But then it'll just feel kinda watered down.

I'm down for villainous Rogue. It should be well known by now that direct adaptation is not how the MCU rolls. No way are they going to turn Carol into Binary or let Rogue do traumatic, long-lasting damage to her, not after they spent the last ten years building her up. I predict Carol's powers would just be temporarily weakened, forcing her to save the day using her wits and not just brute force. Besides, they already dealt with memory loss in the first movie, it would be redundant to do it again.

At this point we have not even gotten a chance to really see Carol in her prime. She doesn't get her full abilities until the very end of Captain Marvel and she's got minimal scenes in Endgame. Introducing a character bent on weakening her so soon is unnecessary, especially when Captain Marvel 2 will already heavily feature new characters like Monica and Kamala who will share the spotlight.

That's why I personally think Rogue and the brotherhood would be better suited for a third film. With Monica and Kamala onboard, the sequel already has enough on its plate.

I think this is the better route. Or even do the Brotherhood as antagonist in an Avenger sequel, so Rogue can do her Avenger take down from the comics.

Y'all are out of pocket. I was just looking for Rogue to debut and for Carol to get some character development.

Eh, after what she did to Carol it was definitely coming to her. She may have only been 18 but what she did was basically rape in the most physical and spiritual sense. Tbh the way she used her powers in those days makes me very uncomfortable to this day, always kissing people without their consent. Although she wasn't alone in that, a lot of the male heroes like Spider-Man and Hawkeye were just as bad kissing random women and thinking they were entitled to do so, so I guess a woman doing it as well balances out.

Anything to see Carol and Jessica interact although I don't think Carol needs to be fridged for that.

IMO in the Marvel Cinematic Universe the marvel character Jessica is to interact with the marvel charcter "Patch" aka Logan aka Wolverine on the island Madripoor no interaction with the marvel character Carol whatsoever for a loooonnnng time.
