Not a song, but there is a goth/shoegaze band called Black Canary, they're actually really good.

And wasn't their a fake soundtrack based on the New Gods/Fourth World? I googled but can't find it anymore.

Edit: Found it. Gregg Bendian's Interzone - Requiem for Jack Kirby

I think this a great marketing choice for the 2017 film:

    Face to Face, Batman Returns
Kiss from a Rose, Batman... Forever or Robin? I forget
    BTAS theme
    Burton's Batman theme
    Reeve's Superman theme
Is She With You? from BvS

The BTAS SNES and SEGA OST... some of the songs from the levels are very memorable.
The Joker rollercoaster fight from the SNES
The Joker balloon boss fight from SEGA
Tale of The Cat level from SNES
Trouble in Transit level from SNES

Batman 89 movie game from SEGA OST. The first Gotham streets level, but especially the Batmobile and Batwing level.

    Superman gets a mention.

And in the theme tune to TV show 'Supergran', a whole bunch of heroes get mentioned.

With apologies for the homophobic slur in verse one. It's fairly mild.

I would've said XTC's songs centered around Sgt
Rock and Supergirl, or Laurie Anderson's O Superman, but someone beat me to it.

    I would have to say:

Carpet Crawlers by Peter Gabriel's Genesis
"Mild-mannered supermen are held in kryptonite"

And Land of Confusion by Phil Collins' Genesis
    "Superman where are you now?"

That was definitely the first song I can recall on the radio that mentioned a superhero.

For me--"Taxman"? I know it's not supposed to be, but it sure sounded a lot like "Batman" (from the TV show) to my young ears. And I could better understand what a Batman was than what a Taxman was. Sounded to me like a super-hero song from the Beatles. George Harrison had a lucky escape that he didn't get sued over that one.
