I especially loved DePhillips New Mutants/New X-Men book in the early to mid 2000s and CCs approach to Cecilia during Revolutions, though I liked her before.

This guy, this form is too cool to sit in limbo

I considered Cannonball mainstream or I'd have added him because I felt his stint as an Avenger gave him major notoriety.
And I forgot Banshee. He's tricky. He is a classic ANAD member, though, and has been in movies. Not as little known as the others. I'll add him to my list.
Yes! I loved the big orange 'fro! It is weird how I like obscure telepaths like Tangerine and Fixx even more than Jean or Emma. (Also weird that there are so few male telepaths, and those that are, tend to *also* be telekinetics, like Cable, Nate Gray and Quentin, as if, barring Xavier, telepathy by itself is considered 'too passive' or something for boys.)
I prefer his original purple pangolin form. Between Betsy, Unuscione, Armor and Quentin (and now Kwannon), I kinda feel that the whole 'create psychic colorful energy armor / weapons' niche is already full up, and there are exactly zero 'turn into purple pangolin' peeps out there.
On the other hand, if his ability turns out to have some actual connection to Hisako's psionic armor, which she has mentioned before has some sort of tie to ancestral memories or something, and it's all part of a bigger story to be revealed, like maybe something to do with this ancient 'mutant magic' that Apocalypse has been talking up recently, I'll take that back...

Banshee & Forge. The bromance that rebuild the X-Men after Fall of the mutants.
Maggot is awesome as well.
Always was a fan of Sunspot before his power upgrade. Rictor too when he isn't whitewashed.
Sunfire...would have said Juggernaut...but I think the general audience knows who he is
Does Xorn count? Or is he really Magneto still? Or has that been retconned. I enjoyed Morrisons run but that was garbage and had me enraged and disappointed and it was just plain embarrassing. Loved Xorn.
