I don't have much to say about it. It was a fun romp, but these kind of heavy action issues don't lend themselves to deep analysis. Stuff blowed up real good.

It was just after that - this one-page strip from Marvel #1001:

That's a shame, what a waste!
I agree that Circuit Breaker would be a good character to use for the 2020 series. (And, Marvel owns Circuit Breaker.) But, Circuit Breaker is also too much a part of "Transformers".
I was actually surprised at how fast things happened. (The the lack of concept development and such left more pages available for action sequences.)I don't have much to say about it. "2020 Machine Man" #1 ships this week.
https://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC190827
Considering that it is $5(?!?!?!?), that DeFalco back-up had damned well better be extra pages. (I am not expecting the DeFalco thing to be good. But, $5 is going to hurt even more if there are not more pages, especially if the DeFalco pages are at the expense of Gage-written pages.)

Machine Man #1 shipped today. Thoughts?
Gage's portion was heavy handed. As a riff on the bronze age, it almost works. As anything else, it is just poorly crafted.
DeFalco is pure bronze age inflection, and does not seem to serve any purpose other than bringing back some forgotten characters.

Has anyone tried to make sense of the binary code in the ads for some of the 2020 issues?
It might be nothing. But, I am curious if Marvel has put any Easter Eggs in the code. (I was meaning to play around with it over the weekend.)

Preview of "ForceWorks" #1.
https://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC190829
Based on the review posted on the main CBR page, it looks like "ForceWorks" will be, at least in part, a riff on the 90s. Between the fact that "ForceWorks" is meant to be a mini-series, a retro-riff might be fun side story. And, we can probably trust Rosenberg not to carry the joke too far, and commit the sins that defines the 90s while trying to mock those sins. (This was a problem with DC ~12 years ago.)
Hopefully they do mock ads, or even current ads in a retro style.

Circuit breaker and death's head are both from transformers and marvel owns both.
Then death's head would not be used. He is from transformers also. Circuit breaker has been in the main universe in secret wars 2 so she is out there and this event would be a great way to bring her back. They would have to update her armor but she is a anti hero who hates machines as she was crippled by one but in order to use her powers must use a machine to walk and use her powers! So she must use what she hates! She joined a mutant super team called the neo knights that marvel had planned to bring over to the main universe as well and was this close to getting a comic.Oh hell no. Never gonna happen. (If nothing else, not having the "Transformers" license is reportedly a sore spot for Quesada. No way they are going to open that wound by using Circuit Breaker.)
This would be a great event to bring her back. Plus her and death's head could lead to some fun comments as there is a version of her in the transformers universe death's head was from but this is the main universe version.

She was going to show up in the unmade Techno-X team book also so that's two times marvel almost used her!

So was death's head who had some big roles in some of the transformers stories.I agree that Circuit Breaker would be a good character to use for the 2020 series. (And, Marvel owns Circuit Breaker.) But, Circuit Breaker is also too much a part of "Transformers".
Death's head in transformers.

Death's Head is a different situation. Death's Head is a UK character that is not specifically associated with Transformers. Inside of ~2 years, Death's Head appeared in "Doctor Who" and some mainline Marvel comics. Since then, Death's Head has more appearances in mainline Marvel. Then death's head would not be used.
In contrast, Circuit Breaker is specifically associated with Transformers. (Nobody gives a damn about one page from "Secret Wars 2" when every other appearance of Circuit Breaker is in "Transformers". Similarly, an abandoned project from the 90s is not much to work with.)
The only people who care about Circuit Breaker are fans of Transformers, rather than Marvel.
The only way that Marvel would push Circuit Breaker is if they got the "Transformers" license. And, even then, it would be a long shot.
So, has anyone read "Force Works" #1?

Marvel was gong to use her twice afterwords so yes they can use her if they want. Bug from micronauts was tied to the micronauts for years and showed up later in gotg. Us1 truck driver showed up in avengers and the shogun warriors pilots and team America stunt guys all showed up later as well. Marvel owns her and a version is in the main universe. Yes secret wars means something as it gave marvel the rights to circuit breaker.
It is not a question of if Marvel owns Circuit Breaker. (They do. Unambiguously.)
The question is why Marvel would bother to use an obscure character that is inextricably tied to a viable, non-Marvel, franchise.
All of Circuit Breaker's major appearances were in the original US/UK "Transformers" run.
US-1, Shogun Warriors and Team America are all tied to moribund properties that most people do not remember or care about. If "Transformers" was where it was 25 years ago (specifically, the depths of obscurity), then Marvel might use Circuit Breaker. But, TF is a viable property that is held by another company.
Nobody gives a damn about that one page. Yes, it establishes that Marvel owns Circuit Breaker. But, nobody gives a damn about Circuit Breaker. There are people who care about Transformers who don't give a damn about Circuit Breaker. Marvel has zero reason to use an obscure character that is tied to a franchise they do not own.Yes secret wars means something as it gave marvel the rights to circuit breaker.

Tried Force Works 2020.
Pretty action-packed (thank God). Nice to see some of these characters again.
7.5/10
"Cable was right!"
Name-checking the characters and their gimmicks on page was a nice throwback. More series, particularly with teams of obscure characters, should use that technique.

Never heard about Techno-X before but, as an x-fan, I wish it would have seen it. The concept was pretty lame though:
The concept would have been that all of the Transformers stories were just virtual reality and it was all training for these heroes to fight REAL robot threats in the Marvel Universe, like Ultron.
