Definitely some interesting names for these one shots, I hope Morrison writes one with how much the multiverse is at play.
This event is way overcooked. Yikes. I'll wait to see some creative teams, but I don't know, it's really sad to think Death Metal may be how we sound off this iteration of the DCU.

DC learning the wrong lessons from Marvel.

It's not like there is a lot else going on at DC currently, they probably needed books since the main line is getting stale waiting on death metal to end.

I mean doesn't that "getting stale waiting for the event to end" paint the picture of what's wrong with event books? It holds up the entire line just to promote one limited series. It's a really poor idea making everything tie into them.

Like I was talking about elsewhere, people might hate Metal here but it’s selling. No surprise they’re going all in with tie ins.

So I guess one of those crazy one-shots will be by Bryan Hitch

Hitch has never been that good of a writer imo, so I'll likely pass on that.

So today we learn the Robin King’s origin, over in Dark Nights: Death Metal: Legends Of The Dark Knights #1, which who he is interesting given his role as Batman who laughs favorite Robin. Though I’ll be honest, his kind of story was expected from the Dark Multiverse and not just by me but I’m sure by a lot of people. I’ll talk more later on the subject because it’s still early in the day and I’d rather not spoil it right away.

    spoilers:
It's just a Bruce Wayne that went evil earlier then the other Bruce Waynes in the story. Oh what an exciting departure from what we have come to expect.
    end of spoilers

    spoilers:
that’s why I said it’s an expected story, a young sociopath Bruce Wayne. It is entirely predictable, but it wasn’t written poorly so I was okay with it. Besides the story was in a one-shot telling stories specifically about evil Bruce’s/Batmen, so I’m not going to knock it for being an evil Bruce story.

I’m more surprised it is a young evil Bruce, and not an evil Dick, Jason, Tim, or Damian. Besides that it is predictable in a way.

This is a joke. I thought Death Metal was supposed to be a Diana event but Synder just can't help himself. Can't say I blame DC green lighting this event though. Market demands for TBWL so that's what we get.

I'm more amused there's still people stating it's a WW event.

I'm pretty sure nobody at DC has ever heard a death metal record.
