Not a problem, I will say this though. Those are just the series I can say before Death Metal has started, there is a possibility that other series could be referenced once we start reading it next month. Also like Snyder says you may not need to read everything, it will probably help and you can do what you want, but I assume he will catch you up to speed on what’s generally occurred.

    1. Dark Nights Metal, it’s pretty much where everything got started. that will reference Snyder’s batman run but he tells you what you need to know from it.
    2. No Justice, that sets up the main Justice League run after Metal
    3. Obviously the main Justice League series, that leads directly into Death Metal
    4. The Batman who laughs miniseries, it shows you what happens after his escape and then sets up for the next story I’m about to list.
    5. Williamson’s Batman/Superman vol 1. That sets up Batman who laughs plan and gathers the infected superheroes that he collects and will use throughout Hell Arisen and supposedly Death Metal.
    6. Hell Arisen. This is directly after Justice League and Batman/Superman, it is the big finish that directly leads into Death Metal starring Lex Luthor vs Batman who laughs.

Side note: those series are more directly linked, however there are some series on the fringe that look to impact the story.
-Doomsday Clock is clearly referenced even in the interview
-Flash Forward, because that’s where we get the big status quo change for Wally West who will be in Death Metal and will have new powers from that series as well.
Ah dammit. I'm torn. Snyder's non-Batman stuff isn't my favorite but I'm curious to see how this all ties together. Have any of these been collected yet? Flash Forward is the only one I've read since Dark Nights Metal.

I mean I just think that’s all the directly connecting stories of late that have lead to Death Metal. I don’t think necessarily you have to go out and purchase all of them.

That said I suppose while it may not get the full impact of the story itself, you could look up recaps and spoilers. I’m not sure how people feel about that but it’s an option.

As for collections, I think everything but Hell Arisen is out on trade, but according to Amazon it will be out June 9th. Flash Forward isn’t collected until July 7th, but you read it already so not really that important to note.

How does the world get this Dark and Post Apocalyptic looking? will there be a time jump for this event?

That’s exactly what happens, Snyder has said there’s a time jump that he will explore in the main series and the guidebooks.

I don't see it here, but Scott Snyder announced a spin-off Death Metal on Flash called Speed-Metal.

It hasn't been solicited yet, maybe in September or October.

And that is the ONLY thing I'm interested in reading. Hopefully Wally, Jay & the rest of Flash family make an appearance.
I skipped Metal, and have no interest in (ugh) Death Metal either.

I heard Justice League by Snyder is worth it.

Death Metal spinoffs officially announced: https://www.gamesradar.com/trinity-c...-in-september/

The 48-page one-shots - Dark Nights: Death Metal: Trinity Crisis, Dark Nights: Death Metal: Speed Metal and Dark Nights: Death Metal: Multiverse’s End - all spring out of the events of August's Death Metal #3, while the main seven-issue series takes September off as a skip month.

Well I’m not sure what the hell Barry and Jay are wearing, I mean are those lightning tattoos on Barry. However I like Wallace and Wally, Wallace embracing his new 52 silver suit and blue surprisingly works for Wally.

If the title is to be taken at face value (they rarely are), it's dumb. It's like every fifth year they kill off the multiverse just to bring it back again. I have zero doubt they would do it again.
