In terms of strictly heroes (no villains or supporting cast members):

    6.) Black Widow
    5.) Daredevil
    4.) Elektra
    3.) Iron Fist
    2.) Shang-Chi
    1.) Cap/Black Panther

I'm sure I'm missing people here and there, but that's the list off of the top of my head.
Keep in mind that you have about as much chance of changing my mind as I do of changing yours.

In theory, shouldn't this be Karnak due to his detect-weakness thing?

Are they allowed gear? Like Cap's Shield and BP's suite.

In theory yes. In practice no.

Karnak should be a beast on paper with his abilities plus his slight meta human stats. But he apaprently is only effective against walls and heavy doors. It's a shame, as he could be a cool character if he were written more effectively.

He has defeated others like Task Master, and a Smasher (though they are a heavy hitter so not sure if relevant).

    Cap. America
    Cable.
    Wolverine.
My priority is enjoying and supporting stories of timeless heroism and conflict.
    Everything else is irrelevant.

Taskmaster has fought Karnak? That sounds like a fun fight. I always wanted to see that. When did that happen?

This may be pushing the limit here...but Spider-Man. Combine his physical abilities, spider sense and the fact that he was trained in his own martial art..The Way of The Spider...by Shang Chi.

    Though I wouldn't say he's the best... I think he's VERY underrated.

Very few people as fast and agile as him are as strong. Really no one who is as strong (or stronger) is as fast and or as agile. Add the spider senses (which compensates for the skill difference better fights have over him) and you've got one of the more effective h2h fighters in comics. He's not the most skilled by any stretch... but the unique combination of speed, strength, and spider senses makes him a handful for everything from a hand ninja to a god and everything in between.

Yeah, Moondragon and Mantis both seemed to know some weird alien martial artists learned from the priests of Pama or whatever, that allows them to match people like Captain America, and even give Thor a surprise judo throw.
