It looks like there’s a lot of discussion on the council ban on resurrecting clones as Honey Badger questions what happens if she diew and why doea a clone version of Sinister get to sit on the council if Madelyne's past deeds are the issue. A rather weak excuse from Magik
Maddie was no more cruel than the rest of the villains living on Krakoa, and her anger also stemmed from the fact that she was completely ignored

Madelyne was plotting to destroy Krakoa. Magik has never tried to use her demons to wage war on the island. The two arent comparable. The former villians havent openly expressed their intent to kill everyone either.

I loved the question coming from Gabby ie. Madelyne because Gabby and Jean are pretty close and so as someone who read their interactions in the past i felt it added more weight to her questioning why Madelyne isn't given a chance at rehabilitation. If it really is a case of clones couldn't they give her the memories she had before she knew jean or met scott. she seemed like sort of her own person up until then. The only dicey part with maddie is she animated from a part of jean that first and foremost would need to bemended somehow. But i really enjoyed maddie this go around and think she would make an awesome ani hero. Surely saturyne could use her to run one of those worlds in need of a heavy hand.

It also begs the question, can it be considered that though madelyne had consciousness in a lot of ways like rockslide she was a baby. Aside from her time with the x-men its not like Maddie spent even a decade learning empathy etc.

No bc she doesnt really have real memories before meeting Scott. Those were false memories implanted by Sinister and some of them were Jean's which came from the Phoenix Force. She was an extension of Jean and they merged in Inferno. She is a cautionary tale for why deaths need to be confirmed before they start cloning and bring people back bc your could end up with the original out there and the clone taking their place

Another thing that people forget to acknowledge is that the Maddie in Hellions was not even the original. She shouldnt even be eligible for resurrection. This was a dupe of a dupe

I think she was being dramatic and felt the X-men needed to go and give her a personal invitation. That could also be a reference to none of them ever reaching out to her after she made her return known in X-men v4

Magik is of course trying to explain things to Gabby and the others.

But yes, Madeline wanted Krakoa destroyed so if they brought her back she’d have to be somehow prevented from doing that.

That’s really the main issue. Because beyond that Krakoa has Selene who are millions of mutant souls on Necrosha and yet she lives on Krakoa.

The fact this was even brought up by Gabby mean it is something they have to address. Perhaps the council will relent and bring her back.

Its problematic. If Maddie were to be resurrected, it should be the original and unfortunately she already exists within Jean. The Hellion's Maddie was some psychic ghost that stole a body and had it magically altered to look like Jean. She was not the real deal in any way

What Selene has done in the past is irrelevant. All mutant's crimes/sins in the past were pardoned and the invitation was extended when Krakoa was established including Maddie's. The stuff she did in Hellions and the threat she posed were new

Madelyne had no original soul of her own. She was an empty husk until Jean's soul was used to give her life. Some of her memories were even Jean's. She was always an extension of Jean even if she didnt know it at the time. That portion was returned to Jean bc it always belonged to Jean. She did not willingly agree to have her likeness and essence perverted the way it was. All of that was rectified and the PF fixxed the mess it had created by splitting Jean up 3 ways
