The delta variant is rising rapidly and health warnings are in coming back.
It’s going to affect the box office. I don’t expect anything to open up big again this summer…at least not Black Widow or FF big.
Couple interesting things at the box office today. BW passed The Quiet one 2 for number #2 at the domestic box office for the year. And its really not far behind Old from being #1 in the dailies again. It could possibly take over the top spot after from F9 after this weekend. But then again lord knows.
Jungle cruise is getting released this weekend. Apparently in the highest number of theaters yet during the pandemic. Also getting same day streaming. I have no idea what this will make.
Jungle cruise making $10m opening day.

Sadly looking like another box office flop in these pandemic times. I wonder if The Suicide Squad can save the box office summer next week. Got some great reviews.
$30m for jungle cruise.
$6.5M-$8M for green knight.

Clifford moves. Paramount sees it as a big hit if they can get kids to go.

Looks like Jungle cruise made 13.3 million for thurs/ fri. Projected at maybe 30 million for the weekend at best. Black Widow slowly gaining on F9. Will be the #1 domestic movie of the year soon.
Numbers for Jungle Cruise's opening weekend:
domestic box office: 34.2 million
international box office: 27.6 million (without China)
worldwide Disney+ premier access: 30 million
Tolstoy will live forever. Some people do. But that's not enough. It's not the length of a life that matters, just the depth of it. The chances we take. The paths we choose. How we go on when our hearts break. Hearts always break and so we bend with our hearts. And we sway. But in the end what matters is that we loved... and lived.
Black Widow almost caught F9 for domestic #1. It will pass it this week.
