Deadline now has it over 35 million with a 53% drop. Things look open until October.

The studios will have to concentrate their releases on theatres.

It's obvious that a lot of people still want to see their movies on the big screen.

New paramount ceo The head of nick who gave us 7 hours of spongebob rereuns is now in charge! He was the teen star of head of the class also! Here is his plan--

What this is all setting up, according to insiders, is Paramount retreating from big theatrical productions to focus on titles - remakes, branded content, cheaper fare - that will service its streamer, Paramount+.

Well right now I would say there is basically one studio that people are willing to pay to see. Four of the top 6 are Disney movies. 2 of them had same day releasing. Hopefully the other studios have something someone wants to go see waiting in the pipeline.

Only 53% drop for shang chi. Most marvel films have a 60% drop (other then 40 drop for black panther) so 50 is great for a mcu film!

Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” ruled the domestic box office again, collecting $35.8 million in its second weekend in theaters.

Ticket sales for the superhero movie, led by Simu Liu and Awkwafina, fell 53% from its debut, a decline on par with many Marvel installments in pre-pandemic times. Notably, “Shang-Chi” is holding up better than “Black Widow,” the studio’s recent comic book adaptation starring Scarlett Johansson, which plummeted nearly 70% in its sophomore outing. “Black Widow” opened earlier in the summer simultaneously on Disney Plus (for an extra $30), while “Shang-Chi” is playing only in cinemas.

Globally, “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” has cleared the $250 million mark with revenues currently at $257.6 million. With $145.6 million at the domestic box office, the film is already the fourth-highest grossing film of 2021 and, if momentum sustains, it could give “Black Widow” ($182 million to date) a run for its money as the year’s biggest earner.

Even without a release date set in China, an important market for Marvel movies, box office receipts for “Shang-Chi” appear to be encouraging for Disney. After putting “Black Widow,” “Jungle Cruise” and “Cruella” concurrently on Disney Plus under its Premier Access banner, the studio announced last week that the rest of its 2021 slate — including Marvel’s “Eternals” and Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of “West Side Story” — will each screen exclusively in theaters. The news is especially promising to theater operators, because Disney films are routinely among the highest-grossing of the year and most multiplexes in the U.S. and Canada have been struggling to sell tickets to movies that are also available at home on streaming platforms.

Malignant debuted in third place with $5.57 million. HBO max is getting a big blame. On the other hand--

Overseas, “Malignant” made $6.3 million from 69 international markets for an international total of $9.5 million and a global tally of $15.1 million.
Guess people just didn't care for this one hbo max or not.

Free guy and candyman still doing well. Jungle cruise good word of mouth really helping it as it has made $194m ww.

And thats 53% with the inflated holiday Sunday that was more like a Saturday. So, it is a really impressive hold.

Theaters are also winners, since Shang-Chi is responsible for Disney going theater-only the rest of the year.

Holy mackerel! Malignant isn't a normal horror flick like the marketing might suggest: it's a wacko Sam Raimi-esque '80s style tongue-in-cheek splatterfest! You won't wanna miss this one, folks. Get in at the ground floor of a cult classic instead of watching it five years from now on a friend's recommendation (the usual way you see a cult film).

Yeah I loved it myself. From the way it opened (complete with a Celldweller song over the credits) I knew I was right on this movie's wavelength.

How can someone listen to an entire video of her?
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

She's loud but her voice isn't that bad. If I can watch Fran Drescher's old show The Nanny I can watch this easy.

Not her voice, she is just inane.
