Not predicting total box office for LM, but the Domestic vs International is troubling compared to Fast X or GOTG. Domestic will have to do the heavy lifting.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

We will see. Even then the abysmal international numbers don't change and 400 million still stands

Honestly, I don't know if TLM will be a hit or not, but its international opening was unusually low. No way to spin that.

That being said, if it does clean out in the US, it will still make a profit but that it's a big-IF.

The US and Europe seems much more open to black mermaids than East Asia and LATAM.

It's US opening was huge but, WW the film was review bombed in several territories.

There is an absolute zero percent chance that it will do zero dollars internationally for the following weeks, you're being beyond silly now.

Who said Zero? No, It will do another 40 million or less which along with Domestic will put it in 400 million territory

You said it would need to do 500 million domestic, that kind of number surmises zero further international sales.

not really. It was taking into account it makes 100 million internationally so it can reach breakeven at 600 million

So it's only going to another 30 million internationally through out its life time at the box office? Even someone with an incredibly bad bias should be able to see the writing on the wall and know that kind of prediction is really silly.

I'll also point out Gerald claimed that $400 million was "estimated" but still hadn't said by who...

Honestly it cost 250 million with probably around 100 million for advertising which is the average for a film of this size. Also taking into account they only get at best 60% of the box domestically and less internationally 400 to 500 million isn't a bad estimate. But the unseen factor is how is merchandising is doing which for a kid's film especially a Disney film can make more money than the ticket sales.

No, he wasn't talking about the break even point/profitablity He said that was the estimate for it's total box office intake.

Everyone always focusing on the negative. Anyone looking at these GOTG 3 holds? They are incredible.

I think for TLM the real test of its success will be in October if we see a lot of Little Mermaids this Halloween than even with an ok box office it will be considered by Disney a success.
