Scream knocks spidey out of first place with $36m. Good weekend for scream 5.

$705m for nwh defeating black panther and iw.

$2,04m for belle at 7th place. Movie deserved better. Shame. Go see it people.

Sing 2 even on vod rent is still killing it at the box office!

By the way, a great hold here with Sing 2 — and the movie is on PVOD now. I don’t know what the media is talking about with the fallout of kids films at the box office. This is the only movie in the shadow of Spider-Man: No Way Home to do business over the holidays, a very similar situation to 2015’s Daddy’s Home being the only family film to cross $100M when Star Wars Force Awakens ruled. Once again, Disney’s decision to send Seeing Red to Disney+ has everything to do with spurring subscriber numbers before the end of its quarterly earnings.

Well, I think Spider-Man’s made enough that none the marvel movies should be delayed any more, lol. There was a Saturday night live skit that had Biden telling ever to stop seeing Spider-Man. It was kind off funny, but went on for too long.

Decided to check and see how much closer Ghostbusters : Afterlife is to catching the 2016 version domestically. After this weekend its only $2 million away. Its likely the final weekend for it as the home video release is coming.

Scream has a reported budget of 24 million and has already made twice that on opening weekend worldwide so it looks like we have the first success story of 2022. Good, it would have been boring if January/February were mostly dead months just for No Way Home to gather stragglers and rewatchers, and I think the new Scream really deserves it.

Poor Kaya Scodelario can't catch a break between this and the last Resident Evil but at least this was made so long enough ago I hope she won't mind.

Happy news for Scream it's now made 84 million worldwide, should profit from North America alone and should be the first Hollywood movie to make more than 100 million this year. Being anywhere close to Halloween Kills, a much more current slasher sequel from a few months ago, is huge for the genre and especially this franchise which flopped the last time a decade ago. Expect some kind of sequel announcement within the year.

Good horror has been hard to find in the previous decade. They existed just not many that were good. Hope this means we get more and it opens the door for more experimental films in that genre.

No new big releases means slow box office.

NWH still aiming to beat avatar.

Ghostbusters afterlife may beat the 2016 reboots box office last second.

Scream still doing good. Sing 2 even on vod still killing it.

Belle made it to $3m. It's getting incredible reviews and no one is going to see it. Go see it people. Imax is still showing it.

Nightmare alley "black and white" cut is now in theatres along with the color version.
