MCU movies land on Disney+ in 6 weeks. I'm sure that takes a rather big bite on sales and repeat viewings.

Maybe? But then again it could really help with subscriptions to that service. I don't know. But interesting points. Im sure Marvel/ Disney have debated this topic a ton.

Thor drops 68% but still pulls $46m. Still film is passing the half billion mark but that was a nasty drop.

    Top gun killing it again.

Crawdads make $17m ahead of where they saw it going at $9m.

Minions made $26m in second stepping over paws of furys dead body of $6m along the way! And with superpets coming paws looks doomed.

Box Office Mojo is getting worse every day. They made a mistake and these numbers are wrong. Guess they'll correct it soon.

Love and Thunder is actually at around 500 million worldwide, see here: https://www.the-numbers.com/movie/Th...tab=box-office or here: https://deadline.com/2022/07/thor-mi...ce-1235066117/
Tolstoy will live forever. Some people do. But that's not enough. It's not the length of a life that matters, just the depth of it. The chances we take. The paths we choose. How we go on when our hearts break. Hearts always break and so we bend with our hearts. And we sway. But in the end what matters is that we loved... and lived.

Okay I delete some of my views above.
I guess we will have to wait and see what is really the number later on.

Is it possible that BoxOfficeMojo made a mistake? According to Variey and other sources, the 497 million are the global numbers, including both domestic and overseas.

Edit: Ah. Sorry. I saw that other people posted this while I was double checking the figures.

Overall I agree that these YouTubers are exaggerating. Love and Thunder will likely end its run at around 700 million worldwide which is enough to make it a financial success. Ragnarok made 112 million in China so it was always an uphill battle for Love and Thunder to reach the same numbers without the Chinese market.

But these guys will say what fits their agenda anyway without considering important facts.

Which to me shows how impressive Strange did. The first Strange made over 130 million in China and Russia. And this second one made 300 million than the first without China and Russia.

What are YOU talking about? My point was Fantastic Beasts still grossed more internationally than Eternals. All the market money-pinching you could cite, if you're this deep discusing the performance of a Fantastic Beasts sequel compared to a Marvel movie intro movie, still means neither Eternals nor Secrets or Dumbledore were hits in North America.

Yet one franchise stands out more of a loser compared to the other.

    Get it yet?

I actually don't understand what you are talking about and not sure why you are so obsessed with Eternals. MCU has made 29 movies. Dumbledore was released in China in a much different box office environment that Eternals. As much as you keep ripping on Eternals it still finished 6th in domestic box office last year. Dumbledore aint even close to that.

I'm not obsessed at all, it was relevant when I brought it up when it sounded here like it was unheard of for Marvel to release failed projects by the metrics all other studios are judged by (iffy box office, terrible for Marvel reviews, poor staying power with audiences despite not being available same day at home to the point it's the lowest adjusted for inflation grossing movie in North America). Then when you wanted to play the pandemic card I refuted it with how studios around the same time were happy to capitalize on actually successful projects. Because it would have been insane for them to throw a whole 2-3 year slate under the bus under the assumption everything would be maybe 90% fine right after (and now the climate change horseman is knocking at the door).

If I wanted to play the smearing game as well, I'd wonder if you yourself were obsessed with covering that performance up.

And Warcraft is the highest grossing videogame movie worldwide at 439 million before the pandemic, yet it wasn't a hit and its studio ran away from it and never looked back.

As I've said time and time again without getting through to you, details matter to studios, not just ranking which can be pretty arbitrary and ultimately worthless.
