Yeah, that's something I didn't anticipate for this book is going down like this but it's rather similar to X-Men Black IIRC. It might also lead to Uncanny or another X-Event IMO.

I am excited for the Storm Giant Sized issue. I was sort of expecting an issue focusing on Cyclops so I am pleasantly surprised. This makes us feel better about how Storm will be used in the first issue. I loved the preview art for Jean Grey and Emma Frost. Jean looks really good in the re-colored X-men Red costume and Emma looks fantastic as always.

I appreciated how Hickman views the difference in telepathy with certain characters (those who are cold vs those who are emotional). Jean is definitely an empathic personality but empathy is also a strong (in my opinion anyways) component of her telepathy.

So it might be a silent issue? I hope only in part... like during the psychic rescue but I hope there is more to the issue than that. Or even better would be their version of the silent issue but without the silent part.

Wow! An issue focused on Storm? I am extremely surprised, but also cautious because Hickman cautioned that it would feature others, which the cynic in me assumes means the title of "Giant Size: Storm" will be more nominal than any of the others..

To be fair to Hickman, he does have women in some fairly prominent roles in this run, but he has to be careful about how he uses them without spilling the entire story.

That's fair. But he also said Nightcrawler's is more of a team mission. Let's just see how it plays out. Even if she's just leading a team with her at the center, should be fine. That was Claremont's playbook for Storm's best stories.

I understand the caution. At the very least though Storm would have never gotten a GSX issue from past regimes. It never would have crossed their minds to feature the character. So this already is a plus.
