This book looks good. It's just a shame that it is spinning out of an event. I just hope I don't have to read the event to understand what is happening in the book.

With each character on the team representing a different part of the UK and a team that is "falling apart before it's even begun!" I wonder if the book is going to be a metaphor for the current state of the UK. As right now feels like the most un-united the United Kingdom has ever been.

Character design sheets, interview with Grist, and it's a five part mini.

Very nice! I guess I was wrong. Snake is actually his name, so he probably is a Skrull. And I bet the X-folks are kicking themselves for not giving Betsy Braddock the name Britannia, instead of having her co-opt her brother's mantle as Captain Britain.

That would have worked well Captain Britain went by Britannic for a while so Britannia would have worked for Betsy.

I don't know that I'll read this title, but I'll definitely tune in to any reviews and spoilers.

I'm interested in this. I love the designs!

Kelpie already sounds like my favorite, with the water-based powers and the connection to Loch Ness.

I’m actually forward to the team (especially Kelpie). I like the designs a lot. I do hate that it’s being spelled Britania though when it should be Britannia. Also hoping Snakes isn’t a Skrull (since Northern Ireland won’t be actually represented then). I’m hoping he’s some kinda life form comprised of snakes or a serpentine creature based on the St Patrick story. The Choir is actually quite a good code name for a Welsh character hahah.

With that tag line it could go either way. If St Patrick represents Catholicism, it could mean that the snakes he chased out represent the Protestant. Or he could be an associated with St Patrick and be Catholic. Chances are high that he’s both from Belfast and involved in some IRA back story (despite likely being too young to have actually been actively involved in the Troubles). Northern Irish characters always fall into the same tropes (particularly in comics).
