I think Gremlins II to a degree, was generally more ambitious and cartoony than the original (The Looney tunes even have a part in the opening and end titles!), although I think it's probably getting a second look now for obvious reasons.


I suppose those Critters sequels too, given that they sort of featured early roles of Dicaprio and Angela Basset.

Although not as well received as 2, 4, and 6, some fans are quite fond of Star Trek III. It's worth noting that it's the film that introduced Spacedock, the Excelsior and Bird of Prey. It also set the tone and look for the Klingons that pretty much every Trek since followed (Although the redesign came in TMP, it's fairly basic compared to the later more elaborate makeup seen in III and later. The Klingons look more like Wolverine pretty much)
