Default Cover Contest, 2/19-2/25/2020: A Decidedly Different Debut!

And now, for this week's contest, I present:

    A DECIDEDLY DIFFERENT DEBUT!

For this contest, present first ever COVER appearances of popular and famous characters….but in the pages of OTHER books and not their own, like in the example below with the Punisher’s explosive debut in Spider-Man #129!

    THE RULES:
    1) Post One (& ONLY ONE) Cover that fits the theme of this Week's Contest!
    2) Cover must be from a Published Comic Book or Collected Volume!
    3) Covers must be Posted before Voting Begins!
    4) Voting Begins 12 AM Tuesday and Runs Until 12 AM Wednesday PST (3 AM EST)!
    5) Vote by Posting the name in BOLD of the Poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most! A vote need not be in bold, but it does make it easier to Count-The-Votes!
    6) The Winner of the Contest is the Entry with the MOST Votes after the Voting-Period!
    7) It's Okay to Discuss the Covers but if you Think Someone's Entry Doesn't Fit the Theme or Violates the Rules, you Don't need to Argue it in the thread, Simply Don't Vote for It!
    8) Plus: Occasionally Voting will Result in a Tie! The Person Who Started the Thread will do the Counting that Week will Usually call for a TIE-Breaking --Vote from Someone who has Not Yet Voted!
    9) AFTER the Tie-Breaker Vote, Voting Ends and the Winner is Declared by The One Who Started the Thread (or assigned surrogate) and Thus will do the Counting.
    10) HAVE FUN!

I am suddenly discovering how many characters are not on the cover of their debut issues: Wonder Woman is not on the cover of All-Star Comics #8, Zatanna is not on the cover of Hawkman #4, Red Sonja is not on the cover of Conan the Barbarian 23, Black Canary is not on the cover Flash Comics #86...

Congratulations to Ravin' Ray four a fantastic, marvelous cover. This issue was a bold and powerful statement. It was revolutionary at the time and I once again ignored social movement for a joke. For a person who extols the Kirk/Uhura kiss as well as the Petula/Harry Belafonte touch, it's unfortunate I neglect to reflect on the importance of such occurrences. Well chosen, Ray. You rock in a bashful Benjy sorta way. What? I didn't say I was giving up the Dad jokes totally.

As to the lesser (for this week anyway) captain's learning experience, he has noticed the problems some had with characters in their first appearances not being on the cover. They were less corporate times and the concept of running anything up the flagpole and seeing who salutes it was business as usual. Are we getting better stories now that new characters are built up in solicitations like this new Joker henchperson? I'm not sure, but I gotta go; there are kids that need to get off my lawn.

Congrats Ray, and let's all be glad BP lost the cape.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Agreed. That was NOT a good look, ditto for Steve Rogers WAAAAAAAAAY back when he was relieved of the shield and first trotted out the Nomad costume.

Wasn't it brought back briefly in the Priest run? Seems like I've seen it pop up somewhere
