    Default Flash Forward #6 Discussion/Spoilers

This miniseries comes to a conclusion and while it doesn't offer the kind of happy ending we all were hoping for, it does offer a semi-satisfying conclusion.

Scott Lobdell offers the final installment where he explores the relationship between Wally and his kids and what he's willing to sacrifice for them. The characterization works really well here since their dynamic is nicely portrayed just like the escalation concerning the ultimate price Wally has to pay to save pretty much everyone and put everything back in order.

This leads to the final moments where we realize what the author's intentions were all about and I'm glad to see these characters back in a proper way despite that Wally's new status quo doesn't allow them to be properly together.

Brett Booth remains in art duties and his work was pretty solid here, especially during the cosmic segments.

Overall, this was a pretty good way to redeem Wally after the assassination he suffered during Heroes in Crisis and actually gives some hope about his future around the DCU. Good work team.

I think this issue does a really good job as Lobdell trying to clean up for Heroes in Crisis and making up for at least one non-delivered aspect of Rebirth, while also setting up for what is to come with Generations and Wally as this new cosmic entity. I think Lobdell honestly did a good job with this series as a whole and was a complete story overall. He adds a good deal back into the DC universe with this series and introduces some interesting new ideas and opens the doors for possibilities that we are gonna start to see play out in May.

Now what remains to be seen is the follow up. Lobdell did good work with this series, and I'm excited to read his FCBD story starting the Generations one-shots, but it is what happens afterwards that is key. There is a lot of room to screw up, and even though Lobdell himself has assured us it isn't a lot of us still remember the whole Parallax situation. If DC is smart about this with the upcoming timeline realignment I think everyone (or at least most people) can be happy about this overall.

Very happy with the conclusion. The rest of this book’s success depends on DC’s plan for Wally this year tbh

Is the earth 0 that appears in the end is new earth or prime earth?

Both. They're one and the same. The timeline was just altered. Remember Rebirth's tagline: It's not a reboot, and it never was.

It was weird to read a story where the narration and panels were literally just "Clean up the mess and give the fans what they want on real time and if you have a minute, since it's six issues, probably tell some stories where Wally runs here and there and helps some people." Like it's not a good story but there's at least a few kernels of interesting continuity, gimmicks and high concepts for "how to get from Point A to Point B", bridging everything from JL#50/Darkseid War, to immediate pre-Flashpoint, to Flash Rebirth, to Doomsday Clock, to whatever.

Like, jarring, though. "Cut to Linda ... oh, her memories are back. No we don't even really show her realization or it dawning on her, narration just indicates that "timeline shifted, right here." But the end result is the kids back at her house so it's like ... can't not be happy that it happened, right?

    Current status of O.G. Titans:

    1. Dick Grayson. Amnesiac and stuck in a bad comic.
    2. Roy Harper. Dead.
    3. Donna Troy. Infected by a crossover that won't go away.
    4. Wally West. His life is fixed, but his powers were mucked with, and now he's Metron and Doctor Manhattan.
    5. Garth. Garth is alright. Looking sexy.

    6. Cyborg. Puppeteered by Darkseid in space as a back-up Evil God for a cosmic "get out of jail free" plot.
    7. Starfire. Ditto.
    8. Raven. Pops up here and there for big magic group shots.
    9. Beast Boy. Unsure presently.
    10. Mal & Karen. I dunno, just chilling. Having a nice time NOT being caught up in all this crap.
    11. Lilith. Dunno presently. Probably still dating Garth though, so out of the spotlight at the moment and probably better off for it.
    12. Jericho. Got evil for a second but got better. Jericho's doing alright. He's not a perfect person but he's doing alright.
Retro315 no more. Anonymity is so 2005.

Nah, Joey wasn't really evil. He just lost it for a brief moment, and then stayed pissed for a while more.

I chuckled at your Garth status.

And Dick is back, well, mostly. He just is about to erase those fake memories he has and doesn't need. Give it another issue, really.

Last we saw Garth he was being thrown out of a ship in orbit back to earth. A likely death sentence that no one even bothered to follow up on.

Beast Boy and Raven are still active with the Titans, though the team seems to be down to just them, Steel, and Miss Martian now (Kyle Rayner no-showed in The Infected: Deathbringer and the team lost Donna in that issue).

but "is Gar hairy?" the biggest question

but it would be nice to have all of the Titans together (did not mean to make a pun like that) again, original and new....feels like it's been a while

As for this issue...I'm just glad Jai, Irey, and Linda are back together and remembering each other....can't wait for them and Jay Garrick to see Barry again and be like "goddamn it, Barry"

Sidebar question: Did Jai get his powers back?...just weird to see him suited up again

Beast Boy is also infected by Batman Who Laughs.

Raven might be the only one not Infected, since she wasn't on panel when BWL derailed more heroes.

I wonder if they'll have Jai powered by the Strength Force now?
