Krakoa, Arakko, and Otherworld forever!
We know there are mutants (Mercury's or Elixer's parents come to mind {yes..I know Elixer's parent gave up their parental rights...just using them as as example of parents who don't want their mutant kid}) who would happily ship their mutant child off to the island. It is just where to the X-men draw the line? One of the central arguments ...as I see it...in this thread is was the X-Men's visit just to extend the invitation to Franklin to visit at his convenience or was it to manipulate him into coming to the island for less than altruistic purposes.
And I am kind or worried about an exchange between Kate and Charles in the 1st issue. Kate says that her interaction with Franklin was a long time ago and she was not sure he would remember. Charles said "He does." How does Charles know that...did he read Franklin's mind without permission? Did he go into Franklin's mind and pull that up to remind him?? For me...a telepath entering a mind with out consent is an assault. Not different that if Logan tried to use his claws of Scott tried to use his optic blast.

"Cable was right!"
LOL! My apologies spirit, I was totally kidding.
New Mutants will be conducting outreach for mutants that don't live on Krakoa so we'll probably see this situation come up. But so far we haven't seen it.
I didn't notice that part in #1 so my guess is if they don't address it on page, then it was probably nothing. But maybe they will.

I’d agree that Cyclops was definitely gentlemanly in that conversation back then. The main turn however was when he brought up diplomatic immunity in Creed’s case. He did well in defusing the tension by allowing for Creed to stay with him though whether he had any say in Creed being extracted later we can’t say and thus can’t fault him for. He certainly would make for a good diplomat for Krakoa.
Given Xavier's history with using his powers in a not so altruistic manner from wiping minds of events to protect the school to wiping everyone's memories about the actual 2nd X-Men team from Deadly Genesis I am really not willing to let him off with "it was probably nothing". This guy has a history of being a world class tool and does not get a free pass from me.
And that's where readers differ. Some lean towards thinking everything Charles is doing is evil and others give him the benefit of the doubt. Most characters have done questionable things so I prefer not to hold on to anything specific and just let the story tell itself.
