No it isn’t. I’m providing background information to scenes you’re taking wildly out of context.

Well exactly , sticking to the facts makes a much stronger case.

This was depicted as a coming of age tribal ritual in a society which has overcome death. And it was consesual but you're ignoring evidence.
You mean how no one will notice because they've been keeping this a secret, and the one time it was a problem was with the mutant that's literally in the public eye the most and they still got away with it?

Do the human families even know what's going on in Krakoa?

Sam and Paige are showing free will because they are less indoctrinated. Melody doesn't because she is more indoctrinated.

We aren't arguing about what a cult generally is, we are talking about if this situation is cult. These people are making clear coherent choices AND unlike real life cult they are fulfilling their promises.

Irrelevant background information. How they're reacting doesn't change how Apocalypse is still speaking exactly in the way cult leaders use to manipulate people.

Maybe Krakoa should have ceremony that encourage people to be more of a fighters and in process repower people who are inclined to protect the island. It is almost as if Krakoan leadership are trying to encourage an attitude with a brutal ceremony

    Or... here's a thought...

They could open a boot camp.

Krakoa does seem to be taking its defences much to lightly though x men 8 does seem to suggest rather more organisation than in the past.

Their only defensive ability lies with their powers so we really should see them training in a mass coordinated effort rather than one on one combat.

And we need to see the villains contribute .

Of course , when it comes to orgies they are unbeatable.

That's Cyclops' Utopia. And unless I skipped an issue, he didn't stab Pixie with a sword during that run.

I think that the new status quo is more centered around how mutants have decided to deal with the various problems that have contributed to their collective extermination. This means that some tactics are now being incorporated to set in place a sort of culture and rite of passage that fits more with a doctrine that could be employed to ensure a outcome more beneficial to mutants.

It does feel like Krakoa is increasingly unsustainable ethically and tonally for a lot of fans...

Hickman continues doubling down on the "cult" aspects

Once Moira makes herself known, Raven begins executing "the plan"... shit's gonna go down

Doug with the techno-organic virus , New Mutants and Shi'ar... Maddy Pryor appearing... a lot of potential harbingers of chaos
Forget the old ways - Krakoa is god.
