I am a Marvel fan preferably cosmic storylines, especially Thanos or Dark Phoenix related, when both the Avengers and the X-Men are involved count me in, loved the original Uncanny Avengers series.
Not a fan of any of the new characters.
(Marvel/DC fan for 44+ years)
I'd rather have my balls kicked than Aaron script Avengers vs. X-Men 2.
Right now, Hickman out ranks Aaron on Marvel by far, if this was happening before the current status quo I would be worried, but now, if anyone is going to showrun the event will be Hickman.
The only way it can happen with Aaron in charge, is if is just some inconsequential mini, like the one with the FF, it will be bigger, marketed a lot, but almost nothing on Krakoa will change.
I mean I'd be down to see how Hickman would handle an AvX 2.
This. There is no way that Hickman is going to cede power over the X-Line for another shitty Aaron "I'M DA BEST FENIX WRITER EVA LOOK ALL MY STORIES ARE FENIX" Avengers vs X-Men. No one wants it, and how Aaron gets away with writing that Logan has a connection to the Phoenix (since he hasn't been a true host/avatar yet) is mind boggling.
I wouldn't, I don't trust anyone at Marvel, not even Hickman, to do a hero vs hero story. Too much editorial interference and remember, Hickman was involved in the first AvX.
I think the Phoenix story has been over done honestly.I would much rather they expand the story of the antithesis to the Phoenix -The first Fallen , maybe if it was the force behind the Twilight war to collect Arrako for itself and you go from there or make it even better by letting clues and events reveal that Selene was a priestess of the First Fallen and instigated the whole war so that she could join another 3 externals she was pals with who were taken by the FF but she was somehow left out -for not sealing all Okkara in the chasm as a sacrifice... would make shit get real epic down the line if her gameplan even in Necrosha was revealed to ascend to be worthy of the First Fallen's inclusion
Crazy idea but: maybe tying the Phoenix to the Avengers is a way of doing damage control after how awful the movie version of Dark Phoenix is? At the very least it'd make it easier for the inevitable X-Men in the MCU/ MCU AvX storyline.

The phoenix has always sucked, so i dunno why people hand wring over it. Phoenix Saga is not good and Dark Phoenix Saga is good, not because of the Phoenix.
It's always just feels like iconography that X-fans have really wring their hands over and I'm just like "It's a dumb fire bird, who actually cares?"

You really can't "fix" a character by writing said character as the focus in a subjectively shytty story.
Plus, what a lot of writers (of comics and film) have forgotten, if they ever knew at all, was that Phoenix is just Phoenix...it's not inherently Dark nor is it inherently Good...As with many of the Cosmic Forces, it jus IS.
