Yeah I didn't care for the ending. It's not that it isn't well done but its just a bunch of fanciful bullshit following an over the top action sequence. Basically it's destruction porn that suddenly tries to be artsy and yeah you don't get to just do that. It might read better to me as a full film but the fact that I waited a week for this is fine, and pretty much only fine. The epilogue really doesn't add anything and I have no idea why the clones even got a helmet change since it doesn't play a role in the finale whatsoever besides giving Ahsoka a legion but it's over and done with too quickly for it to matter. I also don't remember who Jessie is and so I had not a single care regarding what happened to him. I think he was in Bad Batch but I don't remember him doing much.

Basically while I liked the arc, it really is just an exercise in Filoni playing favorites again and basically making a movie out of it.

I think it was a fitting end for a series revolving around the Clone Wars and focusing primarily on Ahsoka and Rex's survival of it without rehashing any of the main events of RoTS aside from brief allusions.

The helmet change was both a nod to Clone loyalty to Ahsoka and how important she was and to symbolism as the last shot of the series is a helmet representing Ahsoka facing Vader walking away in it's reflection.

Jesse was around almost as long as Fives was.

    I liked the whole arc.

My only real complaint at the end has nothing to do with the series or the episodes itself, just kind of something unfortunate with the franchise now; that with the Sequel Trilogy’s depressingly dull take on the Skywalkers, the bittersweet last appearance by Vader here feels more bitter than it did when ROTJ was the ending, or when there was still a chance that maybe Rey was his granddaughter as well and that the ROTJ ending would get to continue in spirit.

As it is... stuff like this with Vader that had a tragic purpose but was balanced by his redemption and ROTJ’s victory now feels like it’s just a downer.

Honestly, Filoni can keep on trying to finagle Ahsoka out of any contractually obligated doom as long as he wants, just so at least some part of Anakin’s legacy isn’t tied to the turd that is Kylo Ren or the constantly misdirected and wasted Rey.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP

The clones immediately start blasting though and nobody else resists orders like Rex. They don't even get named outside of Vaughn who dies almost immediately anyways before we know anything about him. The paint-job works for the "welcome back" scene but afterwards it could've been the Wolf pack or the 212th and it'd play out the same. Jesse likewise is in several episodes before this season but I don't think he's given many lines in this one and I can hardly remember what he did in the prior. He's in a couple of episodes but without looking at a wiki I couldn't tell you specifically what episodes he was in to know what his significance was. So basically this turning point for Rex and confronting his brothers fell flat for me. Vader even showing up also doesn't work for me for another reason being that he figures Ahsoka is alive by Rebels, so who made all the graves? Or does this happen after the confrontation in Rebels? Regardless he just forgot about her for a decade. So him walking away while is a nice visual is pretty much indicative of Ahsoka's role in the universe where she's important to a few characters and then vanishes never to be mentioned again.

Rex was only able to resist for a few seconds, and it took all his willpower just to not immediately start shooting Ahsoka, but even he couldn't hold out. It probably helped that he knew about the chip so there was enough recognition to resist it and tell Ahsoka about what Fives found out.

I don't think they needed to have everyone in the remaining 501st get named for it to be meaningful given, in-context, these are soldiers who Ahsoka has probably been fighting with for most of her life and who honored her by styling themselves after her only to inexplicably start trying to kill her.

It isn't exactly clear when in the timeline Vader finds the grave, although I assume it was pre-Rebels and a few years after Episode III because I just imagine Anakin needing that closure as to what happened to Ahsoka (and maybe to a lesser extent Rex). Maybe he wasn't sure she died, but she was definitely gone, and that last remaining vestige of Anakin Skywalker's life was left in that graveyard with the Clones and her Lightsaber. Hence the last image being Vader walking away from the Ahsoka Clone's helmet.

The finale was poignant to say the least. I love that Filoni left a lot to the audience's imagination--like whether Vader thinks Ashoka is dead, or realizes she's alive and decides not to pursue her, or is contemplating winning her over to the Dark Side. You just don't know. Reminds you of the vibe Vader gave off in ANH when so much about him was still a mystery.

I think there was indisputably a sadness in him at seeing and holding the Lightsaber.

Not a big fan of how ashoka and maul have super sayan level powers all of a sudden.

But great end to a great show.

Maul was pulling Starkiller level feats.

It came off to me as it was only a couple of months, maybe a year after the crash that Vader arrived based on the amount of snow that accumulated on the ship. It was mostly covered but not fully, so time had lapsed, but not enough to fully engulf.

I think a year makes more sense since we have active Stormtroopers. I don't know how quickly the Empire phased out the Clones for the Stormtroopers but I don't think it was that quick.

I think the Vader comic listed Ahsoka as a missing Jedi after Order 66 so they probably would have had to eventually check what happened to her at some point.

Unless this was him checking on her, found this and now presumes her dead.

I dug the whole arc but was pretty disappointed not to get The Night of A Thousand Tears.

Ahsoka's Siege was during the daylight, the Night Owls and 332 Legion seemed to do a good job of gunning straight for the Maul Faction on foot and avoiding huge civilian casualties that night, and they loaded Maul up the next morning. Didn't see a lot of heavy artillery similar to the E-WEB gunning people down in droves.

So I can only surmise that very shortly after Order 66 and the Imperial Decree, the Clones occupy Mandalore by force. And I wanted to see either that, or like, a newly minted Darth Vader leading "Siege Part II" and really giving them something to shed Tears over.

Although I do presume that unnamed moon is in the Mandalore system.
