Phil Jimenez once said that it's about the size of the island of Manhattan.
Author of the Instant New York Times bestselling novel, The Prophets, from G.P. Putnman's Sons.
There's the city, the coliseum, the temples, the jungle, the mountain, the cliffs, the underground tunnels, the healing island, the beach caves, some hill, meadow, and plains... sometimes there's a labyrinth, other times there's a whole monster den with sealed gate... the secret community who worship Hecate instead inside the jungle... a volcano... a Lazarus pit...
So it should be bigger than Singapore but smaller than Australia... bigger than Santorini... How about Crete?

Are we talking big as in land area or big as in population? I mean, OP made me think population, but others make me think land area.
I think both assumptions are valid questions. Land wise weve never really gotten a map of any kind I can think that has given it much detail. Population wise...its amazing any Amazons are left as they always seem to be the sacrifices right after the Titans.
Lol u right about that OBrian Tallent.i'm lkn forward to the day that DC starts to kill off some of the Bat Family.just my thoughts.
I found these maps, but you're right there's not enough detail.

Where are those maps from? I know some have been floating around, and the second map is from Wonder Woman Spectacular from 1978, but the other two?
Looking at the maps, I think they make the island too small, and have too little space provided for agriculture, forestry, homes, and so on. Islands can have surprising population densities, but then they will be very dependant on trade or fishing (or both). I like an Amazon population of at least 3,000 or so, to give at least some city feel and room for specialists, so maybe the island of modern-day Greek Ithaca can be a good model, at around 120 square kilometres, and a population density of around 25–30 persons per square kilometer.
(Note that it's unclear if modern Ithaca is the same as Homer's Ithaca. My father-in-law was part an expedition to study if modern-day Cephalonia could have been two islands in Homeric times, and the results indicated it as probable. In that case, Homeric Ithaca might have been the western peninsula of Cephalonia. The geography of that peninsula also closely matches the Odyssey.)
«Speaking generally, it is because of the desire of the tragic poets for the marvellous that so varied and inconsistent an account of Medea has been given out» (Diodorus Siculus, The Library of History [4.56.1])
Your guess is as good as mine, I googled "map of Paradise Island DC comics" and these were the results.

I often wonder instead of being a city-state Why not have a few cities? Each city dedicated for a important thing.
I always thought Amazon Island should become Amazon Archipelago. The issue with Amazon Island as is that it lacks a lot of good world building elements. I mean, where are the farms? The film had farms.
