Hello and welcome. Glad you are liking Nightcrawlers new series.

They barely had any interaction save at the beginning of the Austen run, and both times Jean-Paul was snarky and dismissive of Kurt, once remarking on how he missed how the priest collar kept Kurt somber and repressed. Jean-Paul wasn't with Kurt's team during any of the religious rants, not The Draco or that story with the exploding communion wafers. Once JP got moved to teaching full time, they had even less contact and that's pretty much persisted since. I don't think it's a stretch to assume JP's general prickliness toward Kurt hasn't changed just because they've both joined the Dead and Back Again club.

Well, I just saw that quote as him picking on Kurt like he picks on everyone, as he had a dig for everyone when he first joined to help that mutant boy. Again, I'm going to wait until you and others give your thoughts before I decide to purchase it. I just wish they did a story like this years ago like when it was fresher instead of now where its a dead horse to most. It may not have the same impact now that people are burned out on this part of Kurts character.

Anyway, Kurt himself has had a bad time with religion due to his very mutant appearance so it feels kind of odd if Kurt would poopoo Jean Pauls fears. Kurt in the past has shown to be conflicted himself in regards to his faith. So I hope writers dont make Kurt too much of a naive follower and remember this part of Kurts history.

For anyone who hasn't picked up Life After Logan #1, it was really good, imo, especially from a Nightcrawler standpoint. To me, this writer was using Ellis/Excalibur Kurt and it was great to see.

Agreed. It looks like as of AXIS #4 Rogue and Alex and Scott are all back at the mansion. I suspect they're all working for Apocalypse/Genesis here and inverted.
