Default The Children of M - Would you read a book about Magneto's children?

Let's say Marvel decides to explore the lives of the children of Magneto and how being the children of one of the deadliest mutants on the planet has shaped them.

Make it into a 6 issue limited series. With them dealing with "Daddy Issues" and how other perceive them. Maybe throw in a villain to give them something to fight against.

    Cast:
    Magneto
    Polaris
Scarlet Witch - back as his child
Quicksilver - back as his child

Grandkids - Luna, Speed and Wicca

Zaladane and maybe Joseph (maybe a younger version)

I'd read 20 books about Lorna.

His other "children"? Not so much. Never cared for any of the three.

Add Luna and the Minimoffs (Tommy and Billy) I'd read it. It's bound to happen after we get the mini event when it's revealed he's still father to the twins and Krakoa is out for revenge.

    Yes, definitely.
But It will be better if daddy issues isn't the only topic, it needs to be bigger and deeper.
The family drama should be important but it shouldn't be the only thing.

Probably the first issue, but I mostly don't like them and probably wouldn't stick with the book.

    Dang it forgot about them.

So is Phantazia another lost Child of Magneto?

Read she was confirmed to be Magneto's child in House of M. I don't remember that but hey.....if so, Magneto seems to be a mutant baby maker. LOL

I would love it if marvel did this, thereīs a lot of unspoken matters that have been left alone between them for years and it would be nice to see them unite agaist a common foe instead of fighting each other.

As far as I know, no, she isnt his daughter and she lost her powers after M-dAY

if so, Magneto seems to be a mutant baby maker. LOL
donīt judge him he always wanted to have a big family.

I would read a House of M book. I thoroughly enjoyed Secret Wars: House of M after all (albeit it did have problems with how it treated Pietro and Magneto). I would also read books of Lorna teaming up with her siblings - with Lorna and Wanda being my most preferred, moreso than seeing Lorna interact with Magneto.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about a book where the focus is "how does it feel to be Magneto's child" though. In large part because it's become abundantly clear that Marvel doesn't grasp who Lorna is or what she offers as her own character, and Marvel needs to understand her if they're going to get her POV as Magneto's daughter right. As Marvel is right now, I absolutely think they'd write her feeling bad that her father's effort at Genosha failed, like an outsider looking in on his manpain, while pretending she was never there and isn't herself a genocide survivor. That's how little they seem to know (or care) about her. And not knowing or utilizing something so basic immediately kills much of the idea's potential for good and interesting stories.

tl;dr I'd be wary of a book where the express purpose is just to build up Magneto and make him look more important while crucial (and relevant) things Lorna's been through are treated like they never happened. The only reason I'm not flat out opposed being that Lorna's dynamic with her father is new and doesn't have decades of toxicity like her dynamic with Havok has.

Since Zaladane's being brought up here too, I'll delve into that. I think Zaladane would be good for some family drama, but the family needs 1) to be whole, and 2) to spend enough time interacting as family first. You need some level of stability, and some level of an understood dynamic the whole family has together, or else it's not going to hit like it needs to. Fandom has a damn good idea of Magnus family dynamics, but Marvel doesn't for the 616.

If Magneto becomes sufficiently enraged at his children, he kills them. People focus on the decimation and want Wanda punished, but they never say boo about the triggering event. Maggie crushed his son's body with a piece of wrapped steel, and stoned him to death with iron ore. They gave him everything he ever wanted but because he didn't approve of the method, splaaaaaat!

Dude's a monster. Keep kids away from him.
