No one cared four months later? Come on, you're kidding right? Again, this is an objective falsehood.

It's still in the top 50 best selling dvd's and blurays despite the film being out almost a full year, and it's still one of the most streamed movies on Disney +.

Feel free not to like them.

Feel free to wish that comic book movies could be better in your eyes.

But don't try to objectively paint them as failures or the ruin of a genre...that's just something that simply cannot be supported by object facts.

Lol well here comes the silliness. I'm still perplexed by people who can take they're personal opinion and project it out there onto other people with no evidence at all.

It was silly Iger thinking he was going to devalue the MCU. Read his book. He devalued marvel by taking out the edge leaving the door open for making films that became bad parodies.

I painted them rightfully as artistic failures. The genre is the least respected genre in fiction. It is because of Iger's MCU movies.

Did you see me denying MCU commercialism, many bad movies still sells DVDs. 50 shades of Grey.

Average Joker had already phased out mediocre Endgame by the autumn 2019, the decline was sealed after Hollywood directors went on a tirade about these SPH movies. There was a lot of objective cinema rightful thought to what they were saying that has been proven.

Iger made bad films with Marvel plastered all over it. He should have stepped down after Iron Man 2.

Look Iger isn't perfect, but you're foolish to believe he hurt Disney. Without him Marvel would likely still be making indie films and Spider Man sure as hell would be in the Amazing clusterf series. Without Iger the live action movies also might not be on the table still, and you Star Wars likely wouldn't be in the Disney camp.

Iger did not have to be perfect, he needed to grow a pair.

Given how much money the MCU has made saying Iger has devalued Marvel is just silly at best given Disney's stock price is a 100 dollars more then when he became CEO.

Lol Avengers and Black Panther werent even just financial successes. They were cultural phenomenons. Avengers brought together a shared universe that has been imitated many times over and Black Panther cultural impact speaks for itself. Just funny seeing someone conflate personal opinion with some Universal truth. I hate the harry Potter movies so much. That doesn't mean they arent beloved.

And yea Scorsese doesnt like SHM's but Tarrantino loves the MCU. Coppola hates the genre but Speilberg absolutely loves GOTG. Puts it over TDK and Ironman as best CBM. They are all just personal opinions, they don't represent any truth other then that persons opinion. The MCu sucess speaks for itself. It things arent perceived as good popularity goes down. Look at transformers, the MCU has made 20+ movies and is popular as ever. Turning C list charatlcters into household names.

Oh the old good days when they would make movies about Batman, Superman, and Spiderman on repeat, with X-men here and there for variety, ten years of the MCU and even DC is remebering they have other characters. But Scorsese doesn't like it, so lets ignore the millions that enjoy Marvel movies enough to pay to watch them, and the doors they have open with their success.

I don't think much would change on Marvel in the beginning, a decline should be expected after Endgame and the conclusion of the infinity Stones story, so unless it becomes a constant trendt I don't think anyone would want to change too much with them.

Super-hero movies have been looked down upon by the industry long before The MCU went into production. Look at what TDK had to do to win an award.

They weren't objective directors, they blamed Marvel for the changing of the industry that they were losing footing in when Marvel just one reason they're not prime time material. The world moved on, they didn't.

It's the same with fantasy films, the Academy delayed recognising LOTR for as long as possible.

Drum roll please to the most wasted thread ever. what we have on repeat record is MCU commercialism and faux popularity. This is the substitute for defending unintellectuals bad parody movies, when the genre has already done better to help itself. Iger is the evil bad guy winning.

The MCU's worst movies don't touch how bad super-hero movies can be.

    Lol...this.

Iger was left on a very high note.

I’m not sure where the conspiracy theories are even coming from.

Read his book, He highlighted that in his book with friendlier words. Critics were either high or drunk when they got critical of mcu movies. They really should not have been uselessly praising those movies when it was destroying the genre severely.

Iger wanted to make money. He has done that by killing MCU reputation as a serious platform to tell high art comic fiction.
And yet , the MCU has been wildly successful with fans and critics alike.

Youíre second paragraph here is you just making stuff up to make a non-existent point. Itís ok to not like the MCU/Disney, no need to make stuff up about critics and the likes.

Iger is more guilty of mishandling Star Wars. He was clueless with that franchise.

Man, the anti-MCU arguments in this thread are giving me deja vu all over again. Waiting for the MCU = Pixar argument to surface again.
