But that's the thing, how exactly do we know this wouldn't be abused?

I seriously hope this continues for a long time. I can't honestly remember ever reading an X-book that gets this philosophical and deep. I honestly wish there was more of this. I need another book just straight up exploring life on Krakoa. No venturing out on missions or defending the homeland. Just give me a slice of life series.

If you feel this way, you might want to look into Secret Warriors.

    Survival of the fittest.

Apocalypse want mutants to fight for their pwoers and for krakoa.

the fittest being by choice and characther, not genetics, you need to die to get your powers backs, at least die in a way that shows your determination.
melody gets her powers, and she got them like a badass

Paradise isn’t free. You have to be made to understand and appreciate what Krakoa offers you. You have to prove that you’re worthy of it. That you’ll cultivate and protect it. That you’ll die for it.

    Edit: Krakoa isn’t for wimps

But now its a showcassing of melody's dedication and how important it is that she has her powers back, it doesnt matter that she died, its her choice, her fight for it wich makes her rebirth all the better.

To be honest, isnt a little irrelevant all the show??

if she knows that she isnt going to die, what determination is this??

I get killed by Daddy Apo Yassss ??

That is one thing, now, about the ritual itself, the xmen are going back to weird places but now is clear that is made on purpose.

I guess Kurt is the audience surrogate.

This is just pure ideology. Imagine proof to be worthy with likes of apocalypse and traitor Sinister

The Crucible was nothing but a boon for Melody.
