    Default The Endgame of Escanor

Had an idea for a fun concept thread.

Escanor from Nanatsu no Taizai takes on the entire Avengers United Army from the MCU film Endgame.

Now, on paper, Escanor blitzes all of them and kills them all with impunity. I know that, so we have some gimmicks in this thread.

    Premise

Battle takes place where the final battle in Endgame happened - the cratered remains of Avengers HQ. Escanor
starts on the opposite side of the main battlefield to the opposing army.

Around Escanor's neck on a chain, hangs a stone. It is an Infinity Stone. If it is removed it will be replaced by the next stone in the following sequence:

    Soul
    Space
    Mind
    Power
    Time
    Reality

The object of the thread is for the army to remove all of the stones or, if they can, kill Escanor.

    Stipulations
    - Escanor's speed is limited to that of MCU Captain America
    - Escanor has his Divine Axe
    - The time of day is 11:30 in the afternoon but Escanor will not become The One.
    - Escanor is dimensionally tethered to his starting location and cannot move more than two metres from that position. He can be thrown, punched or moved by others by he cannot travel further than two metres under his own power.
    - Due to his dimensional tether, no part of Escanor can be teleported or pushed through a portal.
    - If his opponents decide to retreat or opt to wait out the clock, the length of Escanor's tether will increase at one metre per second until he enters combat once more whereupon it will contract to normal.
    - Escanor cannot physically interact with the Infinity Stones or use their power. If a stone is removed from him, he can reclaim it on contact whereupon it will go back around his neck moving to the top of the stone sequence. Other characters can attempt to use the stones as they remove them from Escanor.
    - The Avengers Team has been briefed on the scenario and Escanor's abilities. They have had a ten minute strategy session.
    - Escanor doesn't know what's coming beyond "Earth's Mightiest Heroes,"

Can the team do it or does the Lord of Sunshine win the day?

Hmm. I think that they can pull it off. Use the more durable members and large number of ranged fighters to keep him occupied. None of them can actually hurt him, but they should be able to distract him while Doctor Strange opens portals through which Scarlet Witch grabs the gems one by one from relative safety.

Is there any limit to how far away the heroes can stay? Like could Doctor Strange be in the Sahara desert and open portals to the battlefield?

Let's say that to take an offensive action against Escanor, they must be within the environs of the battlefield.

Also, remember once a stone comes off Escanor's necklace, he can just grab it to reclaim it if he's quick. Also opening a portal in front him might be dangerous as, while Escanor himself can go through a portal, he could throw suns through them.

Which is what the distractions are for.

Then again, he can probably just melt a lot of the intended distractions by flexing his sun powers a bit.

I have a hard time believing anyone in the Endgame army not named Thor is going to be able to tank attacks that can instantly vaporize a lake. That's some thermonuclear bomb level damage output.

Is Escanor forced to play defense? Or, as long as he remains mostly stationary, is he allowed to toss out offense?

He slags most of everything right away if he is allowed. Or swings his axe hard enough to rip the battlefield in half or some nonsense.

If he has to stay back and only defend then its muuuch harder for him. Does he have psychic resistance feats for example? They could also try shrinking him if that doesnt break the portal rule of course. Pym shrinking is weird after all.

He is limited in his movement only. He does have ranged options which he can deploy.

The army is not without options though, they have Strange, they have the Wong and the other mystics. They could catch projectiles and throw them into space and so on. Or fire them back at him.

I'd allow shrinking as an option, it's not removing him from the location he's dimensionally tethered to. However, that doesn't actually get them the stones and thereby the win.

I mean, they could probably find some way to blind or disorient his senses, portal in and then someone really fast and strong could grab the stones without him knowing.

I doubt he'd be able to stop that. I don't know if anyone in the army has demonstrated such a capability, but it's hardly outside the realm of possibility.

But they're not going to be able to fight him or even get close to him and take the stone since he insta evaporates almost everyone.
