Default So, is the Joker right?

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbr...dc-comics/amp/

There was a thread here where the same topic (DCs overdoing threats to the universe, the multiverse, all time and space, reality as we know it etc.) was discussed but I couldn’t find it.

I’m all in favor of scaling things back. There’s only so many times I can read this type of story. Stories like this used to come along every year or two, and I think they worked better that way.

I think he is in a way. Batman works best in street level stories. Luthor is a better character as a billionaire who can foil Superman.

Yes. There is a time and a place for big events - that time however isn't all the time.

We don't need the Joker to tell us this. Former CBR member Cei-U!/Kurt Mitchell already said it on these forums nearly a quarter century ago: when EVERYTHING is a "crisis," then NOTHING is a crisis.

Yup to both (and I remember Cei-U). Nonetheless, fandom keeps falling for it.

Far be it from me to argue with a clown that makes sense.

I do not feel like DC has made everything a Crisis recently. This is just Scott Snyder stuff that he has been indulging in for the last few years but the rest of the universe feels rather tame in comparison.

Also, that is not what the Joker said.

That out of the way, I do feel Big Two comics have suffered from continually facing bigger and bigger threats and making the characters stronger and stronger.

He's right and as the constant crises, events, etc. the continuity or lack of it it's more noticeable. Well at least there are writers who acknowledge this.
