Complete the Justice League!

So going by the unofficial rule that the JL must feature the Big 5: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, a Flash, a Green Lantern, I’m asking who would you use to complete the roster? You can make your League as big as you want but specify which version of a character you’re choosing. I’ve listed the most commonly used/listed JL members and the biggest franchises at DC (in terms of solo success). Choose other for any other DC character you’d add.

PS: I left off member belonging to a “family” as I believe there is no need for redundancy on the League (ie With Superman, there’s no need for Supergirl to be there, Batman is there so no Nightwing...etc).

Most others, stop trying to force them into the JL, they should really be developed into their own teams.
And call it something original other than another frikin Just League _________ !

I like the Hawks working together (of course, I prefer pre-Hawkworld Hawks), so without two members of same fam, I'll leave them off. Personally, and I know I'm in the minority, I prefered JL stories (satellite league being my era) that had less of Batman and Superman (and WW wasn't even there, mostly). Heck, despite being the heart to some Martian Manhunter wasn't, either. It's just I feel like too often they don't treat everyone as equals and the Trinity gets all the glory, which bugs me.

But under the lineup you have given, and with the idea that you want big players, I'd go with Aquaman, since he's another long-running one, and founder of "family," Black Lightning and Zatanna for their powersets. Cyborg belongs with the Titans to me (I don't see it as a junior team). I like Green Arrow and Canary, but feel they'd end up underutilized and disregarded.

Personally, I would have a 10 member roster due to the "family" limitations.

Have 10 core members and allow for specialists to appear as guest stars. But my true dream team would have 11 characters with both Hal and John in the League together.

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and a rotating cast of Flashes and Green Lanterns, along with a similarly fluctuating cast of specialists depending upon the mission at hand. I think the Justice League Unlimited approach to the team's membership makes the most amount of sense given how important the League is within the DCU. They're going to recruit the best of the best to battle the most dire threats on a monthly basis. Limiting the team to a handful doesn't really work anymore.

I would add the following three:

1) Martian Manhunter, to me he belongs on the League, is a powerhouse and is more worthy of the 7th slot then Cyborg (although I like Vic I feel Jo'nn adds more to the team

2) Green Arrow but it wouldn't be Ollie, it woud be Conner Hawke because I've always preferred him to Ollie and he brings a different dynamic to the team

3) Zatanna, just because the League needs someone ot deal with magical threats, especially given how vulnerable Clark is to magic.

I suppose I grew up in a time when Martian Manhunter was a guy that used to be in the JL, and never quite got why he became the group's Captain America. At the same time, I always thought BL was the hero the League needed. I thought it was bold to have him tell the League no, but wished they gone another way.

Plenty of League mainstays in the mix here, but a few women and PoC to hell round things out, and a big mix of power sets and personalities that'll compliment and contrast the Big 5 nicely.

Brings it to a roster of 13, which is definitely on the large size but I've favored huge, sprawling teams since the JLU cartoon. My own League, if I had total control, is considerably larger.
