Save Colin Farrell, save the world.

Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope and nope.
Nope.
"The rules of regeneration are known!"
"Sorry, what did you say? Did you mention the rules? Now, listen. A bit of advice: tell me the truth if you think you know it,
lay down the law if you're feeling brave, but never ever tell me the rules!!"
Its dissapointing how far they strayed from the books. Its less that they changed things and more that they changed his whole character and arc.
Instead of an interesting antivillian, he's now a generic kid hero.
Oh well if kids like it....I'll be fine.

Amongst the many things wrong with the trailer, worst of them all is how seemingly irrelevant Holly's character appears to be.
And she's the actual hero.

This movie feels very late to me. Should have been a decade ago when I was reading the books.
What the hell! They've turned it into a Spy Kids, Men in Black, Spiderwick Chronicles mashup!
Yeah, I have to say...this really doesn't look like an Artemis Fowl movie.
I'm also not convinced by the kid playing Artemis.
I must admit I had bad vibes when it was announced Disney was making this, as I felt this would happen.
If it were another company like Warner Bros., it would've been far truer to the source. Instead, it was the one company all about clean, family entertainment under their main brand, and you can't quite do that with a kid protagonist that's a criminal mastermind.
Sigh.
What did I just watch? LOL
A fan theory is that this is Artemis the 3rd instead of the 2nd. So the movie is a stealth sequel to the books where we focus on Arty's son.
