I think early Thor is probably breaking the power curve here.
Yeah my understanding is Thor was pretty powerful from the get go. Arguably stronger in his original stories, in fact. Or at least Asgardians ranked higher on the cosmic ladder.
I agree with the other posters here. Early Thor was pretty beastly right away.
I have a few old Thor comics playing around somewhere. I'll flip through them tonight.

It all depends on if early Wonder Woman was as powerful as Thor....I doubt it though.
And Batman?? LOL Early Batman was getting beat up by regular hoodlums...come on...
Yup, in his first two dozen issues Thor was smacking around Ego, manipulating time, etc.

Well within three years, the GA Superman was leaping to the edge of the atmosphere. But that's small potatoes compared to Thor. He was pulverizing small planets and holding his own against Galactus, this being before they solidly established the hierarchy and more or less assumed the gods couldn't be second best at least by much.
Power with Girl is better.
