Nope. No explanation on his fire head.
My highly speculative guess...based on how he's being written...would be Doyle just thinks it's bad-ass.

Not a bad series so far. A bit TOO light-hearted for me but it’s a nice difference to a lot of darkness surrounding other comics atm.

This is exactly the reason why I'm enjoying it so much.

I'm enjoying the light-heartedness as it gives a different feel than much of what is out there right now. Plus I have a feeling there's some darker aspects coming up that will have a big impact. The students are acting like many students I have known and its been fun to see them being cocky and then learning by doing. I hope this series has a good run.

Still enjoying this series. I’m not “hooked” but I find myself coming back every month.

    Same here.
It's a delightful palate cleanser in-between the dark and heavy courses.

Same. There isn't anything I find "gripping" about this series, and the cast is almost too big -- yet there's enough every month to keep me coming back, both in terms of characterization and action. Still, I'd love a little more depth to everything about this series -- the character beats, the feel of danger, the moral decisions inherent in magic using, etc.

Mostly, I just want to know what's up with Toth and how Catbeast is going to factor into things.

    -Pav, who misses Weirdworld...
You were Spider-Man then. You and Peter had agreed on it. But he came back right when you started feeling comfortable.
You know what it means when he comes back

Although...Zoe's revelation was an "oh, ho!" moment for me and makes me more interested in her character arc, than I am for any of the others. Young sort of hooked me there.
