Hal also was routinely insulted by people in the GLC and other groups for years, Parallax was a huge shadow over him and hew as allowed to earn redemption multiple times on panel. This was denied to Wanda.
I think the problem remains that she is given redemption arcs and moments but they are poorly executed or worse yet the fan base that hates her refuses to give her a chance no matter what she does or how well written the story is.

I'm aware. That's why I brought it up. Wanda needed a "Parallax" that would take the majority of the blame for what happened. The Life Force retcon tried to be that, but was too ambiguous, which is why it didn't work.

Her problem is that her redemption arcs somehow end up making her look worse AND that writers keep piling up horrible mistakes on her, like the zombie situation

So if its too late to put her on trial for HOM, can she be put on trial for her actions in Empyre? The stuff she does with her magic lead to catastrophic consequences. She needs to have a sorcery lobotomy and banned from using her powers and accessing magic. Its a fit punishment especially considering how irresponsible she continues to be with it

No one knows she's responsible for the second zombie Genosha. As long as Doctor Strange doesn't snitch she might get away with it

Yet. Play along. Obviously a trial would be contingent on people learning of her crime

It should be a simple process of elimination. 'Who is both powerful enough and stupid enough to do this?'

I expect if and when Illyana recovers from the demonic staff corruption she is going to be all over Wanda!

Perhaps it doesn't even end up a trial on Krakoa, maybe it ends up being a trial before all the Sorcerers of Earth! She put the entire world at risk from a zombie infection that we absolutely know is contagious because it even infects the Cotati! So far Wanda is lucky the entire planet isn't overrun by Zombies, you can almost thank the Cotati for distracting the Zombies so they didn't leave Genosha!

I just had another thought! Marvel is going to do a What If Wanda Maximoff started the Marvel Zombies! You just know that will come out next year!

Selene's plan was alot more competent and her spell was properly executed. She did not come across like a dummy in Necrosha and she actually managed to bring back the dead, not raise rotten zombies that she left unchecked for a month. What happened in Empyre was plain stupid and most people give Selene credit for being smarter than that

Agreed I was hoping Hickman would do different but it doesn´t seem that will be the case

At this point given this Wanda doesn´t seem to have a relation with Empyre Avengers Wanda I could see her as an AU Scarlet Witch, Empyre X-men has been so crazy so far that it could even happen.

If Selene brings fully back the Genoshans to life as part of her support to Krakoa as her way to support Krakoa it would be interesting to see what the Quiet Council does.

It seems so much like Wanda at the beginning of her career. Where she didn't know much about magic and her powers could still backfire. But also they like to forget that modern Wanda had any growth at all. They forget that she's grown, that she learned magic enough to have an apprentice. That she was adept enough to take on Dormammu and bring back Thunderstrike from having been turned into shards of glass by Thanos. For the last 15 years she's regressed. Doesn't know that taking on the life force could have dangerous affects to the multiverse and doesn't know how to resurrect people even though she has done it before.... yeah...

    *facepalm*

It just seems like dumb stuff to antagonize x-fans.

If characters were written as they're supposed to Wanda wouldn't be messing up like this, she's a talented sorceress. It's only stupid in that it failed, had Selene done this it'd be according to whatever plan she was working on at the moment.

Wanda should just limit her help to sending a Gift Basket next time.

Though at this rate, the basket would be some form of Pandora's Box and it would cause chaos on the unsuspecting Krakoans.
