Sounds like we just want different things. I don't want an "endgame" - I don't want big arc after big arc. I don't want status quo changes (or origin reboots or retcons) with every arc. I want enjoyable stories. I want some more episodic ones - the ones you will say are "meaningless fluff" - I think those are great for building and utilizing consistent characterization. The character doesn't always have to moving towards a creator-defined goal - I mean it's nice for an arc, occasionally, but I think just watching them be heroes is great. I miss one or two issue stories that just are entertaining and don't effect change in the character's world. Or just slow organic growth and change and development of a loose arc while episodic adventures take place. I'd like to just enjoy individual issues as mostly episodic stories that aren't always working to some point (dramatic event) in the future, but are just building the present. And also for a little bit of humor and see a hero enjoying heroics - it seems like so few do that now. They're all always in the middle of some angst-generating storyline at any given time. The frustrating thing is we’ve gotten “smaller” stories like in the brief runs after Rucka, and we’ve gotten “big” stuff from Wilson, Robinson, and Orlando. But the smaller stories were boring and meaningless fluff, and the big stuff either dealt with stuff that editorial cared about more than the fans (Jason, Grail) or felt hamstrung by editorial (Orlando). None of it has really felt important. It doesn’t feel like anyone has a long term plan for where they want Diana to be five months from now, let alone a year. You may not like their plans but both Tynion and Bendis feel like they’ve got an endgame in mind for the characters.
I think it's a problem with having so many tight, long, arcs - now it seems like any stories that aren't working towards some future event or that don't further an arc are just deemed useless. And it's much more difficult than it was once to just pick up one issue and read one enjoyable story. Very tpb friendly, though, I'll admit that.
I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a "big" story. And frankly, I think they have much less oomph than they once did, because they are pretty much constantly happening and it feels like nothing ever settles into "normalcy" for superheroes anymore, the way it once did, and they are definitely, frequently, willing to sacrifice prior characterization in name of plot demands. And less followup and then 3 issues later ... another "big" story that winds up just as meaningless.
But I'm willing to listen to any suggestions for big stories - maybe someone will surprise me by coming up with an idea I like.
And maybe I'm just not thinking of "big" the way some are - to me, big stories are stories the "events" - even if they're in one title instead of crossover. Just not my thing at all. Not saying I've never liked a one, but I've disliked more than I've liked.

Have you been reading the WW book though? Because what you’re describing is pretty much how it’s been since Rucka left. Diana has done mostly episodic storylines with the occasional “big” story that ended with a whimper like Jason or Grail’s stories did. If you’ve been reading and enjoying the book so far, I think you’ll continue to enjoy it under Tamaki. But if not then I don’t think her run is going to win you or anyone over. We’ll see, it sounds like she’s doing something different with Diana and Max this time.

Currently(or soon to be) Reading: Alan Scott: Green Lantern, Batman/Superman: World's Finest, Fire & Ice: Welcome to Smallville, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Jay Garrick: The Flash, Justice Society of America, Power Girl, Superman, Shazam, Titans, Wesley Dodds: Sandman, Wonder Woman, & World's Finest: Teen Titans.
DC released some art by Carlo Barbieri from #761 and it's quite a change from Janin:
That is actually a nice style for Diana.

last panel seems to be a souvenir from justice league vs suicide squad
I wonder if Dr. Psycho will be involved with the mind control scheme. Haven’t seen him around for a long time.
Damn, that sucks. Seems like a slightly underhanded way to get people to pick up a comic. “We’re putting one of our best artists on one of our most iconic characters!...for 2 issues.”
