Of course, I bought the first one on Sub-Mariner. And it was WONDERFUL!
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?
What are this? this is the first I am hearing of them.
This Post Contains No Artificial Intelligence. It Contains No Human Intelligence Either.
They were announced back in January and Kurt Busiek has returned to Marvel to oversee this project as the curator. There will be 8 issues featuring a different topic
Here is the Diamond/Previewsworld catalog entry for the Sub-Mariner issue I picked this up today but haven't read it yet.
The next one will be the Fantastic Four on March 25th
I wasnt gonna get it because well too many books but read it and well it was deep and I like the whole perspective of a everyperson in the marvel universe and the way it dealt with a deep issue like post WW2 PTSD and how the war wasnt all glorified in the comics as those Golden age issues made them out to be.
one thing bug me about this issue is Cap and Bucky appearance, its 1946 shouldn't the rocket incident happened and Steve on ice by now.

jeez this is the first time i heard of them and i been reading comics since 3rd grade in 1993, no much marvel lore that its easy to miss basic or obsure info, lol, thanks for letting me know, now i will look them up.
I agree. I loved how it dealt with the mental price paid by the WWII veterans, including Namor. People forget, Namor, like so many real soliders and fighters, was still a teen when he started fighting Nazis.
I also love, love, love Betty Dean. She was such and awesome, groundbreaking character for Marvel Comics, that most people have forgotten. It was beyond wonderful to see this story from her POV. Which is another thing I love about Marvels and this series. It tells the stories of the superheroes from the POV of everyday people.

Well, it's sort of a retcon of the Golden Age books. When All Winners came out in the 1940s, Cap and Bucky were Steve and Barnes, I believe, because they hadn't "died" before the end of the war. Stan Lee changed that, so all the Cap and Bucky appearances in the Golden Age / Atlas books had to be changed. I say, "sort of a retcon" because in the MU, the Golden Age books aren't exactly canon -- until a writer recounts / uses them in the MU. The Golden Age books / stories are supposed to be exaggerated or fictional accounts, i.e. comic books, about 'real' MU characters.
If you'd like to read some stories about All Winners and Jeff Mace, I'd recommend the 70th Anniversary books about them, including the Patriot mini-series. Patriot was the superhero identity of Jeff Mace before he became Cap.

I'll get the X-Men one because it's Jay Ediden from Jay and Miles X-Plain the X-Men and he definitely knows Cyclops.
Matt Murdock's cooler twin brother
I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!
